I won't go too in-depth, but I'll say that the NYC show was pretty great. I have to admit that I was expecting a little more than the cliche "tag team featuring the ROH Title holder and his three possible challengers" main event, but the match made up for the lack of a title change.

The best match on the show was actually the Briscoes vs. Claudio Castagnoli and Matt Sydal. Claudio recently cut his hair, and he looks weird. The cutting of the hair must have done something though, as he was on a whole other level in his match. The Briscoes are in my minds the best tag team in wrestling right now, and Matt Sydal thrives in any tag team he's in (and he's in a lot of them). It was just a long and fantastic match, almost worth the 10-15 dollar price tag by itself.

Marufuji/Rocky Romero also went above my expectations, mostly because of Marufuji. But Rocky showed some good fire, now that ROH has dropped the albatross of Ricky Reyes from Romero's shoulders.

The only disappointing match was Roderick Strong vs. Delirious, mostly because it went WAY too long. ROH has that habit of going too long in some matches, but it was never more evident here.

Concerning the PPV concept, I probably won't purchase this first one, as I was there to see the show. But as I don't buy ROH DVDs much (my only purchase was last year's 9/16 NYC show), I would be more likely to buy PPV shows.

In fact, they have already announced that the second PPV taping is from Chicago. That show is on 6/23, and it already has two matches in Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA (I know that matchup is great from the 9/16 NYC show) and my boys the Briscoes vs. my other boys Kevin Steen and El Generico.

As long as the Chicago card comes off well, I will probably order the second PPV.

For those who have read the results of the NYC show, would you order this first ROH PPV? Do you prefer ordering PPVs or DVDs from ROH (or neither)? Like I said, I would tend toward PPVs.
