Detroit does not, repeat, does not have a chance of making the NFL playoffs. Favre would have to be insane to stand behind the Lions offensive (pun intended) line. As durable as Favre is, he wouldn't make it to week 8. As tempting as it would be for him to have Williams & Johnson to throw to, it would be a mistake.

Originally posted by thecubsfanThe Packers, with a young team outside of QB, went 8-8 last season. It's reasonable to figure a slightly improved team could go 4-2 in division, which leaves only 5 more wins they'd have to find elsewhere to be in the playoff mix.
It's really not as if the Packers needed to blow up their team and spend like the Redskins to have a shot this year - a couple more pieces would just improve their chances a lot. It didn't even have to be Moss, it just has to be anyone to improve the team and take advantage of the division. Instead, Green Bay has seemed to take a pass on the offseason.
We went 5-1 in the division last year, and we had a weak out of division schedule. This year, most of the games we play outside of the division will be against teams that finished .500 or better (thank you Raiders and Redskins). We could easily be a better team this year than last, and finish at 6-10.
