The formal upfront presentation is later today, but NBC has released it's 2007-08 primetime schedule, no premier dates known yet, and all times Eastern:

Monday
8- Deal or No Deal
9- Heroes
10- Journeyman (a "romantic mystery-drama" about a time travelling journalist)

Tuesday
8- The Biggest Loser
9- Chuck (Computer geek becomes secret agent)
10- Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Wednesday
8- Deal or No Deal
9- Bionic Woman (Exactly what you'd think it would be)
10- Life (A detective returns to the force after serving time for a crime he didn't commit)

Thursday
8- My Name is Earl
8:30- 30 Rock
9- The Office
9:30- Scrubs
10- ER

Friday
8- Game show rotation- 8 weeks of 1 vs 100, 6 weeks of The Singing Bee (Contestants basically play Name that Tune, but have to keep singing the songs after a band stops playing.)
9- Las Vegas
10 Friday Night Lights

Saturday
8- Dateline NBC
9-11- Drama Series Encores

Sunday (September-December)
7- Football Night in America
8- Sunday Night Football

Sunday (January)
7- Dateline NBC
8- Law & Order
9- Medium
10- Lipstick Jungle (Sounds amazingly similar to Sex and the City)

There is also a midseason fill in comedy- The IT Crowd (think, The Office in a tech support department) since something is sure to flame out somewhere in the schedule. Law and Order: Criminal Intent is also moving to the USA network for the first run of episodes, with encores on NBC later.

Some other detalis: My Name is Earl got a 25-episode order, The Office got a 30-episode request, which includes 5 hour-long episodes.

It is also now official- no Studio 60.

The Friday night 10pm placement of Friday Night Lights says to me, "We know the show gets no ratings so we're putting it where it's not expected to get ratings." It doesn't matter to me since I'll DVR it and watch it over the weekends. I'm just glad it's back for season two. Friday Night Lights on Friday night has symmetry to it.

Is there any surprise that Studio 60 is dead?

Bionic Woman, eh? Plus Sarah Conner Chronicles on FOX. Hot dangerous asskicking brunette chicks is the new "behind the scenes at an SNL like show" high concept this season.

FNL in the Homicide slot = good beans.

NBC left the latter show there for seven years, figuring since the network was so damn successful and profitable that it wouldn't hurt to let one of the best shows ever run for a while.

Of course now they're in fourth place, so who the hell knows.

30 episodes! It's still 22 fewer new episodes a year than I'd prefer but it's a start. :)

Scrubs is coming back?
Yay!

I was worried about NBC's promos touting, "the final episodes..."

Here's a question I haven't seen clarified:

If there are five episodes of The Office that will be one hour long, are we getting thirty episodes or twenty-five? The logic to me would be to order thirty half-hour eps and couple a few together to create twenty-five episodes, five of which are long. After all, usually when you get an hour-long episode of a comedy it is two separate episodes (since in syndication they can't air the block as one hour.)

If it's thirty episodes and five of THOSE are an hour long, then OMG YES.

Last I heard, which was a long, long time ago, Zach Braff didn't want to do another season of Scrubs. Anybody know if he's coming back or if they are going on without him?

A week or two ago, Braff did sign a deal to come back, if the show were to come back.

They're coming back for only 18 episodes (instead of 23), which is the explanation for the longer/extra Office episodes. Basically, the 5 weeks Scrubs aired this season but won't next will instead be one hour Office episodes.

Scrubs seems to be out of gas and coasting at this point, but hey, every one gets paid for one more year.

Yeah, Scrubs is definately running out of gas. I'm not particularly looking forward to watching everyone trot out for a payday next season.

25 episodes, 5 at an hourlong is only logical. I would think a 30 episode/35 half-hours order would be kind of unprecedented.

I'm on the "die Scrubs die" bandwagon, but at least my worst fear (IN THE WHOLE WORLD) wasn't realized, which was Scrubs not just staying, but bumping 30 Rock from Thursdays.

Poor Andy Richter (and Tony Hale...)

Between the abysmal musical and the clip show, I watch Scrubs only because its on the same night as the other shows I watch. I'm not on board with this whole JD-Eliot love theme reprise, but at least the show is starting to steady itself again.

I can't say I'll miss Studio 60. I enjoyed the show, but at the same time, that's an hour a week I can do other stuff. Like come here and post about how I have an hour more per week free.

Heroes: Origins sounded interesting up until the 'America picks the next top hero' part. I look forward to everyone who was all "OMG HEROES > LOST!!!!1!!" defending the show as it inevitability declines in quality during the second, overexposed season.

Can we just give the Office its own channel? I worry that there's only so much they can do within the confines of an office, yet every week they pull something out and surprise me.

Any word on Baldwin's status for 30 Rock? He's not quite the whole show, but his departure would be noticed.

Well, the advertisers seemingly think that an Office/Earl/30 Rock tandem has legs, so an 18-episode swan song for Scrubs gives them time to eventually develop a fourth comedy for the block.

30 episodes for the office?

How did Gervais and Merchant make a great show in all of 13 shows total?

I just noticed Criminal Intent was no longer listed. By far my least favorite of the Law & Orders, and they're moving L&O to Sunday? They really do want the show to go away.

I think Office is one of the few shows that can easily withstand the added time. So much of the cast are improv veterans that they could probably do a whole episode and plot off the top of their heads and nobody would notice.

I wonder how far back Baldwin made his desire to leave known to the 30 Rock producers. Since a couple of months back, Will Arnett was introduced as a character that would be a perfect replacement. I dare say Arnett could be funnier in the role as clueless network head than Baldwin.
