Just got back to England from Detroit after a loaded weekend of wrestling. Watching the Saturday night ROH show actually dampened my WM experience a little, as the in-ring action from ROH was a league above the WWE.
The Michigan State Fairground looked like a far cry from where I would be watching 'Mania a day later, but the 1000 fans in attendance helped to make this a really decent show.
BJ Whitmur and Jimmy Jacobs had a stunning cage match which saw a pretty impressive mid-air powerbomb reversal off the top of the cage and, of course, plenty of claret. Jacobs took the win following a top of the cage table dive onto Whitmur.
The six man Dragon Gate main event was incredibly good. Dragon Kid looked really impressive.
All in all, this didn't match the Liverpool, UK Night 2 offering from a month ago but this was still a very solid card.
I've got to add a special mention to the people of Detroit who were fantastically friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Promote this thread! | | Dawg

Ya know, I got to thinking...for a weekend that was missing Joe, Dragon, Rave, Morishima and the first night having the life sucked out of it after Mark's injury I'd have to say it was incredibly solid. I still don't know if anything can top the first "Dragon Gate Challenge" from last year but that had a lot to do with never seeing anything like that live before.
The 6-man was great and I hope it turns out on video to be just as good as the one from the 1st Supercard...
I'll be ready on Sept 14th as I'll be sitting in the front row for the first time! | jwrestle

It really was two solid shows. I had to wait five years to finally see this promotion and GOD willing I hope it stays around. BRUTAL cage match the second night, BRUTAL injury the first night, and just freaking phenomenal work by all the wrestlers. It is defiantly a different atmosphere...I think I'll try to catch the June 22nd Ohio show.
The only place I've ever, I mean ever, heard a "You sick F**K!" chant.
ROH also remind TNA workers to "FIRE RUSSO". Needless to say Shelly and Saban handled it well also Cornette on the second night.
Spiecal ROH guests: Friday was Bruno Sanmartino and Saturday was Johnny Fairplay. | griff
