I think it's a good choice insofar as it's nice to see WM moved around the country besides the three major points of LA-Chicago-New York, and this is Florida's first shot. It's kind of curious that WWE wouldn't choose to hold it in a larger venue than the Orlando arena, however, when it's been shown that the Wrestlemania name alone can pack a 60,000 seat stadium. The flagship event for World Wrestling Entertainment, the largest company in pro wrestling, will be March 30 at the Citrus Bowl.
Wiki says they've put 73K in the place for football games, so they should be able to fit in plenty. Rain? Dunno.
Maybe this was planned well in advance and things can't be changed and they're sure they'll be able to handle it, but - if you're WWE, do you really want to have a press conference tomorrow? If you're Orlando, do you really want to be saying "WWE is great and we're thrilled to have them" at this moment? Bravery or foolishness? Dunno. | CRZ

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Hurricane season is from June 1 until November 30. Al Gore's opinion notwithstanding

Having Summerslam in notoriously rainy London in 1992 was a risk, but it paid off in spades. The Caesar's Palace arena was partially exposed at WM9, though it doesn't rain much in Vegas (and a rainout might've improved that sorry event). I guess it's a risk WWE is willing to take, but I wonder if they don't have the stadium also tentatively booked for the next weekend in case of bad weather. | OMEGA

| #10 Posted on 21.3.07 1820.04 Reposted on: 21.3.14 1820.07 | I'm suprised Vince chose to do it there, since he's said to not be a fan of outdoor shows. And putting the biggest show of the year outdoors in Florida is quite a risk. I'm sure they'll construct a roof to protect the ring from the elements. But if it happens to rain, that could still dampen the mood of the crowd. You don't want Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit attempting to have a ***** classic in the ring, while, in the background, fans are running for cover.
However, I, personally, am a big fan of outdoor shows (I even liked the oft-hated Road Wild shows). So I say YAY!
Further investigation shows that the building (built in 1936!!!) does sort of give off a dumpy vibe. Still, it's WrestleMania in a giant, outdoor stadium, so it should be fun.

I hope they use a better setup for wrestlemania.
I do remember Rey getting a drop-kick off of it on Orton because he is so tiny.
