I´m thinking the optics of the glass towers would have to be really complicated. I could see everyone of the Gowanus expressway suddenly being blided when the sun reflects off all that glass wrong or something.
I´m guessing that they could put an observation deck or something on top of the glass that might provide some revenue. Although, being on an obervation deck 1000 feet in the air standing on GLASS would quite frankly scare the living shit out of me.

That is incorrect. The current pipelines (Trans-Caspian)are being built to isolate Iran from getting any transit revenues and the ability to export any more oil. The Afganistan pipeline was on the drawing board ever since the Soviets pulled out. You can count on the pipeline being on the drawing board for some time as there is no government in Afganistan and the warlords still run the countryside. As for avoiding Russia, that is a fallacy. The problem with the Black Sea route is the Turks who are already complaining about the number of tankers in the Black Sea and do not want to see any more added. They fear that there will be a Valdez type accident one day.
