I'll second Steamboat/Savage from WMIII. Even non-wrestling fans get into it.

This is why I keep coming back to The-W! I love the quick wit. However AWA, you will need to decide between Mac vs. & Connors and Roddick vs Federer. I realize this may be like picking your favorite child but there can only be one favorite (at least in my book).

I'd have to go with the first War Games match in 1987. Just listening to Tom Miller announce, the crowd going beserk, plus seeing that structure for the first time and then watching Arn Anderson get the absolute sh!t pounded out of him for 5 minutes was just ridiculously mind-blowing.

One match I can never get bored with was the Japanese six man tag at the first ECW PPV. I am not a fan of Japanese wrestling (that is, I dont follow it) but this match blew me away.

I would have to agree with Bret/Austin at Wrestlemania 13 but since KJames already said it I'll also throw in Benoit/Angle at Royal Rumble 2003 as a close second.

Really? I don't much care for Roddick. I'd rather watch Federer and Nadal.

I came into this thread with the specific intention of saying Michaels-Ramon at WrestleMania X, but then I saw the first HIAC mentioned and I have to think...

Nah. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, Ladder Match, WrestleMania X. It's not the best match ever, and it might seem tame compared to the TLC matches of the early '00s, but it's my favorite match on my favorite show of all time.

CM Punk v. Samoa Joe II, 10/16/04, Chicago Ridge, IL. I've never been so sucked into a match, and I was there live for Austin/Hart at WM 13. Just an amazing match, a crowd that was hot as hell, and two guys who to me are the future of American wrestling.

Go with The Brat and Jimmy from 1980.

I'll back that up with the 2 second squash of SD Jones at WM by King Kong Bundy

This is like picking a favorite child.

Gun against my head, I'll say Hart Foundation VS Stone Cold/LOD/Ken Shamrock & Goldust at Canadian Stampede, for the entrances alone.

I like a Fujinami-Maeda from 1985. I can't recall the exact date. It's a match that stands up today. It stopped early because Fujinami's forehead got split in two

You too, huh? I woke up my mother doing that. But hey, it was worth it for the "OMG, MY GUY WON THE TITLE IN THE MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA!" factor. Truly an unforgettable experience.

So many great ones have been said, so I'll go with one of my favorite matches that I watched live, and that is KENTA/Low Ki at ROH's Final Battle 2005 in Edison, NJ.

My favorite match will always be HHH vs. Cactus Jack Street Fight from Royal Rumble 2000. Great drama, great selling, brutal, and I loved every bit of the build-up to it. The look on HHH's face when he realized he was going to face Cactus Jack in the weeks previous is still one of my favorite moments in wrestling, and the match paid it all off. Of course, the feud would continue in HIAC the next month, but this was the best match of the feud, I think.

I also have soft spots for:

HHH vs. Stone Cold - No Way Out '01
Sting vs. The Great Muta - Great American Bash '89 (Probably not even the best match on the card, but I was such a mark for both guys).
Four Horseman (Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko) vs. Raven and Saturn, Spring Stampede '99.
I also have a deep and abiding love for that Trish vs. Lita match that main evented RAW a couple of years ago. For some reason, that one just got on my feet, probably simply because I want more -good- women's wrestling on my TV.

The entire angle leading up to it was pure gold, and I can't remember getting into a match more than I did for that one.

Stamboat/Savage at WMIII. Awesome match by itself, but watching it with thousands of peeps on the big screen at the Long Beach Convention Center was pretty freaking awesome...
