OK, there's a song that gets played on a CD where I work...and I have no idea what it is. Here's what I know:

- it's a girl group/female singer...sort of a pop/hip-hop/dance vibe
- it's not anything played on Top 40 radio...so it's not Shakira/Christina Aguilera/etc.
- it's got a great horn part that really drives the song
- the only lyrics I can ever hear are "I'll have to say we're through," "my heart would play the fool," and something along the lines of "I'll have to let you go."

I've googled those lyrics and can't find anything. Little help?

You really can't just get your hands on the CD?

(If the artist and title are somehow not on there, you could at least open it in iTunes and let IT identify it for you - and even if THAT didn't work, you could rip it and then WE could listen to it and help you)

My worry is its some Canadian act we'll have never heard of so there's no point in my even trying to help beyond saying "ask James...."

It's some corporate-made CD...no track listings, artists, anything.

Try to play it on my answering machine and I'll see if I can ID it.

It's not a country song.

It's on the East Side's CD...the one they play over and over and over on that 6-hour loop or whatever it is.

Gracenote/CDDB is still pretty good at coming up with track listings if you can load it into a computer that's running iTunes.

What IS printed on the CD? Company name? Matrix number? Something else you/we could Google?

Or if not iTunes, CDex from sourceforge is pretty light, but has good cddb functionality

Any chance it's Avril Lavinge's I'd play the fool? That's the closest I could find.
