Opening: Announcement made to Samoa Joe to return the belt to Jeff Jarrett or be removed from the active roster...I guess fired.
Out of no where comes Abyss, Raven, and Brother Runt brawling to the ring. No actual ref. Monsters Ball match for the up coming PPV. Abyss eventually clears the ring. Lights go out and out comes Jake "The Snake" Roberts! Oh, that was sad...I've never really seen death warmed over but it's him as it seemed like it took him forever to get in the ring. DDT to Runt. Says they want him to be the ref but gives no and yes answer. Basically said something like Jake would while still trying to catch his breath. VERY SAD.
Outside Jeremy waits for Joe but instead KURT ANGLE has arrived in the building! It's real, it's DAMN REAL!
Match #1: Cristian Cage vs. "Screamin'" Norman Smiley - That is funny...he comes out full football gear for street fight warm up for Cristian. Winner: Cristian Cage after a One Man Conchairto. Shark boy comes in to save Norman from more stuff by Cristian but he fights him off. Trying to straight jacket Norman but Rhyno finally runs him off.
Jeremy still outside still waiting for Joe. He finds Eric Young who says he missed Joe and he's already inside. Joe is a "Man of his Word" or so says Eric.
Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal playing a video. Mortal Kombat, games in the back. Jeri Lynn tells them one of them is up for a match. Out of no where Senshi storms, as they were making fun of him...must have been watching a monitor, the locker room and takes both men.
Match #2: Fighting out the ramp it's a Non-title match Senshi vs. Jay Lethal - Winner: Senshi with a fisherman hook side fall brainbuster...anybody know the actual name of the move? Sabin comes out to attempt a save on Jay Lethal but Senshi gets the better of him and nails the Double Stomp!
Nash at a bar for his press conference presented by the Paparazzi. Buidling up the X Tournement for the PPV and making fun of it all in the same.
BG James defending Jeff Jarrett as the man not the competitor.
Match #3: LAX and AMW/w Gail Kim vs. James Gang and Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles - Winners: Styles, Daniels, and the James Gang. After LAX and AMW couldn't figure out who wanted to pin AJ after a superkick. After wards AMW argue. Conan comes in an pie faces Gail which leads to LAX laying out, draping Mexican flags over them, AMW and Gail looking like a lawn dart being hurled across the ring.
Mike Tenay in the ring. Earl Hebner holding the official documents. Here comes Samoa Joe. Crowd tells him to keep the title! He tears up the papers. Music hits...IT'S KURT F'N ANGLE! Ok, if you didn't read the spoilers then this cool. Wait it's still cool! FACEOFF! HEADBUTT! ANGLE SLAM! WTF! TNA just called it the OLYMPIC SLAM! Joe is up and juiced. Joe hits him with a enzegri! Jarrett runs in and finally gets the NWA World Title back and looks at it the top of the ramp. They keep beating on each other even with everybody trying to break them up. Don't forget to watch Bound For Glory this Sunday! Hey, it's the Fozzy Video. Promote this thread! | | Alex

| #4 Posted on 20.10.06 0212.07 Reposted on: 20.10.13 0215.48 | I enjoyed the show. Senshi vs. Lethal was a fun little match, especially when preceded by Senshi kicking the crap out of Lethal and Dutt in the locker room. Christian vs. Smiley was barely there. 8 man tag was a mess (by which I mean, chaotic in a crappy, not-fun way).
Set up for JJ's face turn is worrisome. Moody Jack's replacement seems adequate. Kip James' hair is alarming. Has Vince Russo been hoarding Smiley's football gear all these years?
Seeing Kurt Angle in the ring was surreal.
BfG should be a good show -- I don't think it will be outstanding, largely because not even Angle can save the Main Event from being really, really uninteresting to me.

If there was anyone in TNA booking with long-term planning, that's the main event for next year's Bound for Glory right there, provided Angle is still physically coherent by then.
I love seeing Senshi just beat the crap out of people, and it was a much-needed squash to re-establish him as a force headed into the PPV. The inverted Perfectplex-into-powerbomb was arguably an even more painful-looking finisher than the Ghetto Stomp.
Gail Kim's bump on the Border Toss was SICK. It sets up a nice feud between AMW and LAX after the pay per view, and hopefully it's for the titles as well.

I read a rumor from another board that stated Jarrett would take a sabbatical after BFG & return as a face, aligned with the James Gang. This alleged rumor stated that his face turn would be prompted by a heel bringing up various things from Jarrett's real-life personal life. Again, pure rumor ...

I'll say this for them, they surely made Kurt Angle's debut appearance in the Impact Zone the big deal it deserves to be, don't you think? From his surprise appearance in the limo to his entrance video, music and method, to him coming out and getting right in Samoa Joe's face to their actual confrontation. And the brief camera angle in which a bloodied Samoa Joe looks over the shoulder of a celebrating Kurt Angle was brilliant. I have to say, though I still have reservations about Kurt's health, this was a moment that no wrestling fan who saw it will ever forget. | XPacArmy

| #9 Posted on 20.10.06 1551.19 Reposted on: 20.10.13 1551.51 | Well, Jarrett's wife has, according to the sheets, been battling cancer so I think that'll be the storyline. And honestly, Jarrett, from all accounts, IS a really good person so if that's the angle we're going for I'm not too skeeved out about it, though the Guerrero stuff has made using real-life stuff a bit sketchy this year.
Anyway, best Impact ever.
-The Jake Roberts stuff was a bit sad as he looks like hell. -Sick, sick, sick Border toss on Gail Kim. -The Nash interview was all kinds of snarky. The uncut version of Youtube is even better with a reference to "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" and Nash claiming to have wrestled under a hood for 20 years. -Another good Sting video. TNA has fucked up the build to this match, but I hope Sting goes over. I think it'll leave a bad taste if a show ends with a heel holding the title. Remember, 15 straight WM's ended with a babyface winning. It's important to let the good guys go over strong sometimes. -And the ending was one of the top segments of the year in any promotion. Minor point: Wrestling is supposed to y'know not be real, so for Angle to bust up Joe's eye like that with headbutt is a bit unprofessional honestly. Especially the location being about the eye like that, as that could impair his vision if it gets busted open at the PPV.
I liked the image of Jarrett just starting at his belt.
And the video was rocking. Listen, I've never been pumped up for anything for TNA, but this show got me going (not that I'll order it anyway, but still.)
That's what a go-home show needs to be.
Kudos to TNA. | JustinShapiro

As weird as it seems, there's an understanding between guys to do retardedly stiff headbutts for hardway blood. Benoit and Regal do it in a lot of their matches. Benoit and Jericho did it in that submission match they had on Raw in Japan in the beginning of '05. It's gross but it's just a little skullfuckery between friends and they agree to it ahead of time.
That's what a go-home show needs to be.
Well, it brilliantly set up a match, but the match isn't happening at the show they're going home to.

As for his entrance: I don't see that being a continued thing: it took a long time for him to enter, and i could see that slowing down the show.
I'm liking the BG James/Jeff Jarret dynamic: if they're turning Jarrett face, showing the human side to the "King of the Mountain" is a great way to do it. I'm not sold on Sting winning the title (how often is he on Impact, anyways?) but if it gives Jarrett some time to be with his wife, then it's okay.

That would be a fine end to the AMW, but this seems like a natural feud starter after LAX take the belts at BfG. AMW can work face for a bit, eat the loss, and move on to another feud while LAX takes on someone else before Team 3D claims their title shot.
Still waiting for Bobby Roode to announce his manager, and, after all this build-up, Austin Starr better kill somone in his BfG debut.
No mention of JJ recruiting BG James as the Road Dogg? Come on, Tenay.
I don't like Senshi, and I wish I knew why. His general offense seems soft and slow, but his finishers are credibly painful. He unfortunately brought back the cradle bomb too late for his Sabin match to be packaged as a battle of cradle finishers. | Karlos the Jackal

Apparently it'll be on the pre-show. If it was on the actual PPV, I'd say that the knocker shot last week was a red herring and Traci's just an assistant or something, and that his actual manager would turn out to be, I don't know, probably Vince Russo.
Since it's just on the pre-show, though, it's gotta be Traci.

Apparently y'all care, anyway, so I mean no disrespect here, but I'm wondering why TNA really expects most people to give a darn who Bobby Roode's manager is going to be. Quit doing the same damn segment with four or five different people (though of course the Heenan one was funny) and get your ass in the ring and prove your "hottest free-agent in wrestling" thing is more than just a tagline. A lotta people do just fine without needing a manager, after all.
I like TNA a lot, but one thing that bugs me about them is they tend to do these long storylines that are heavily talked about but really quite irrelevant. Bobby Roode is apparently gonna get a push whether it's Heenan who's his manager, or James Mitchell, Scott d'Amore or Traci. So what's the point of saying "OOOOOH BIG ANNOUNCEMENT AT THE PPV CONCERNING BOBBY ROODE'S MANAGER!"? This is just like when they went for weeks wondering who the new face of TNA management was going to be, or wondering why Dave Hebner came out every once in awhile to observe matches. And it did not disappoint at all. That crowd was super hot for it, although like as been stated, it's not leading to a match between them (just like LAX/AMW).
I liked the rest of the show, although I'm a bit spoiled by seeing Low-Ki in ROH, etc, and I'm not liking the 3 minute version of Senshi. I still think that match with Chris Sabin should be terrific.
Also, I can't believe that I'm saying this, but the Fozzy song was actually really good. Of course the video package was really well done, but I was surprised at how well the song flowed with the footage. If I wasn't working, I'd perhaps buy the PPV. The humorous part, especially if it's true about his manager's announcement happening on the preshow....the so called "hottest free agent" can't even make the big show with his announcement? Heh. Then again, it's hard to honestly go with the whole hottest free agent bit since during the entire deal, the true hottest free agent has already been signed and appeared on TNA. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
