Since we have exhausted commericals we hate, what aboth the ones we love to watch?

The one commercial out now that I am into is the Snickers commercial where the guy is helping another guy enjoy his Snickers by singing a song. My favorite part is when halfway through the song, the guy singing gives a smile and nod like "I just KNOW you are loving this song".

My wife and I are really enjoying the oreo cookie sticks one in the office, especially when the people in the background start wiggling their hands around.

What's in inside? It's oreo!!

I am sure I have screwed up the actual title of the product but it always gets me to stop what I am doing and watch it!

The "I pinch" commercial for the Honda Element.

"I Peench." (video.google.com)

If the office gets quiet, inevitibly from some cubicle you'll hear "I peench." or "No peench, no peench".

The new Geico commercial with Peter Graves. I don't love it as much as it reminds me of his role in the movie Airplane. Graves was just as good as Leslie Nielsen, even funnier, but didn't get the work Nielsen got from it.

Right now, the allstate commercial where the four middle-aged mommys are getting to meet nascar driver Kasey Kahne. They fantacize about bonking him, then crash their SUV into a statue, destroying their car. Then Dennis Haysert fills us in.

The final line: "I'm super sorry about your car" kills me.

I love these new "Mac vs. PC" commercials Apple's been running. I can't pick a favorite, though I do want to quote the one I just saw, advertising the MacBook's magnetic power cable:

PC: My whole life was flashing before my eyes. I see a sunset in a field of beautiful wheat,

Mac: Isn't that your screensaver?

PC: ... yeah...

"Unbreak My Heart" rules them all. The very first one, with the older white guy sitting in his chair talking in the girl's voice, was a great start to the series.

I really like the new ad for Lego Star Wars where Lego Luke and Lego Vader battle. As if Luke snapping his hand back on wasn't funny enough, the way Vader looks around before tossing the hand over the edge is just icing on the cake.

My favorite commercial ever was from the early 80's, for Philips Light Bulbs.

An old married couple sits at the table, a single light bulb illuminating them. The old man slowly slurps his soup, while the old lady stares at him.

Old lady: "Oh Harold, the love is gone from our marriage. Every time the lights go out, you just fall asleep!"

Suddenly the light bulb flickers and goes out.

*plop*

*blubblubblubblubblub* - you hear the old man snoring in his soup.

Let me also second the love to the Lego Star Wars commercial. I thought the first one with Chewie ripping off the guards' arms was funny, then they hit me with the Luke/Vader combo. That was some great stuff.

And I like "them bikes be like waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" better.

The starburst commercial with the vat of industrial waste is awesome. Just the look on the second guy's face as he starts rolling up his sleeves is priceless.

Even though it has a relatively small target audience, & didn't have a lot of airplay (Possibly has something to do with me never having gotten sick of it.) ...

EDS "Herding Cats" (youtube.com)

Production quality, little subtleties, concept -- best commercial of all time.

(I have a friend who is an engineering manager. She is the best "people manager" I know -- she has been known to wrangle the quirkiest techno-geeks I've ever met, & they (Uh, "we".) absolutely adore her. She also owns 10 cats. Managing an engineering project is indeed exactly like herding cats.)
