Lest you think I spent all night watching stuff to crap on, another excellent "Venture Brothers" aired last night. Probably twice as funny if you'd actually seen "The Manchurian Candidate" and could get the references - fortunately, I have a wife who makes sure I am culturally literate by showing me these movies, so it all works out. President Breyer was a great composite of a few of our previous (and the current) president, Abe Lincoln's ghost ruled, Bud Manstrong was as funny as he was the first time (although the show was sadly deficient in Lt. Baldavich content) and on and on, seriously, watch this show.

Only later did I figure out that when Breyer said "no, not that one" when offering cigars to Bud he was referring to a cigar he'd used for....well, let's just say there was a lot of sexy jokes in this episode and ALSO say hooray that both "blow job" AND "hand job" made it past the [as] S&P department.

I didn't like this episode as much as some of the other ones this season, but but seeing as how this season has been overwhelmingly awesome, if this episode marks a low point for me I think that only speaks to the ridiculously high quality of the other episodes.

I watched the show on Friday on the Adult Swim Fix website and got several chuckles. Didn't catch the cigar reference until watching the network version this morning though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: This has been a great season. I loved that they had the entire first season on the Fix last week - that burned up some of my lunch time at work!

What I really like about this new season (and about the second half of the first) is that it's taken on a Seinfeld-esque approach to having the episodes be able to stand alone, but also full of references to past episodes for regular viewers. And I think that's awesome.

That was the best show I watched last night.

It could be just me, but I think they're doing a great job of developing the brothers and continuing to make Brock the superstar.
