I was really surprised to see Super Crazy on RAW. After then initial shock, I wondered how long it would be until he's solely working Heat matches. And what of Psichosis? Is he still with the company? Why not move him to RAW now? You'd have the African-American stereotyped team, the Mexican stereotyped team & the redneck stereotyped team. A recipe for fun, I tell ya ...
Don't forget the Scottish stereotype team.
I missed the Cryme Tyme promo, but the gimmick doesn't sound all that different from Too Cool when they first started (or PG13, for that matter). Is there something that puts them beyond normal wiggerness?

Cryme Tyme robbed a smoothy place, and implied that they killed the owner.

Well, they're black, for one thing. I don't know many black wiggers.
The skit was stupid and came off like Yet Another Desperate Cry for Attention and, as usual, the Usual Suspects are lining up to be the first to be so whipped into frenzy that they simply MUST respond as expected - in spades - all the while, the mainstream attention they're REALLY hoping for....well, it hasn't seemed to materialise yet, but it's barely been 24 hours. Making the clip available on the website looks like another attempt to get somebody interested. If THAT doesn't work, expect something even worse NEXT week - possibly in conjunction with a solemn 9/11 commemoration. ;-) | jwrestle

I wish I could say the same about the recap.
I missed RAW last night, and with Keller not having posted his, I came here in hopes of reading something that would give me an idea about what I missed.
If I could offer up some constructive criticism, the recap doesn't read well unless you saw the show (I guess?).
For example:
Edge is in the middle of the ring...he's cutting a promo on reason why John Cena won't win in two weeks. Edge: It's going to be Tables, Ladders, and Chairs...OH MY! What swinging his fists like an oversized gorilla. Edge has a Rated R Superstar movie for us to watch. Hey, is that the Movie Voice Over Guy from the Gieco commerical or is that the regular WWE guy? Nice...video package. Edge: Cena you're out of your element son. Edge notices Cena enter the ring...Edge: You son of a...dives at Cena who catches him and mucles him into the FU into the Table! He colapses the ladder onto. Cena hits the ramp as his music plays and we head to the first commerical.
I have absolutely no idea what took place in the opening segment, other than I gather than Edge saw John Cena, and they fought.
I'm not trying to flame, I just thought I'd point out that for those of us who didn't see RAW - this doesn't help anyone get a picture.

| #25 Posted on 5.9.06 1343.13 Reposted on: 5.9.13 1343.37 | For the first time in a while, I caught most of RAW start to finish. I was watching the Yankee game and missed a few bits, but for the most part I enjoyed everything. They are moving all of the storylines along well enough.
I was loving Armondo (HAHA!) coming down to demand that Flair acknowlege Umaga as the man. Since Flair has said for years, that to be the man, you gotta beat the man, and since Umaga beat Flair, Ric oughtta say Umaga is the man. Classic entertaining stuff.
I give props to the fat security guard who stopped HHH and HBK from coming into the ring to "negotiate" as it was gonna take some time for Show/McMahons to clear the ring. He had to know the sledgehammer and chairshot was coming, as did the whole arena, but he played the part well. Was he telling HBK to hold back?
I will really miss Trish. She is so good on the mic and has made virtually every angle she's been a part of entertaining. I am wondering if she will win in her hometown on her last match - I think she deserves it, and don't see what Lita has to gain either. I liked Lawlor's questioning, what happens then?
Jeff/Nitro was much better than I would have expected, but when we expect a blown spot or two and don't get any, it's refreshingly good. I was glad they got the time to shine, and liked the fact that they were able to mat wrestle for a couple of minutes before breaking out the spots - it made the story that much more compelling, kudos to both of them.
So, I take it the Masterpiece is being punished, the question is how long?. I don't think I'm as bothered by the lack of size, as I am by the length of his hair and the ridiculous goatee.
I wasn't sure if Coach sucking up to Shane was just filler, or if it will lead somewhere.
Vince booking himself as the main eventer in Madison Square Garden. The place that "his father and grandfather built." At least he knows HHH will help carry a good match out of him.
Don't forget Hacksaw/Eugene as the stereotype retarded tag team.
Last, I enjoyed the Main Event a bunch. Trish's slap of the heels to draw a schmozz just before ad break was done very well. Carlito plays the face-in-peril pretty darned well, and Cena on the outside of the ring really helped work the crowd anticipation of the hot tag.
I don't see the logic of any SD guys wanting Cena on their side, as he would plug up the top of the card, and get in the way of their own title hunts. I still expect a screwy finish somehow.

I'm actually curious about where this goes and this has the potential to be really entertaining. Unfortunately, a gimmick like this doesn't have a really long shelf life. But that white voice-over guy RULED! "But Cryme Tyme isn't about running sprints. You must be STRAIGHT trippin'! This is how WE do!"
What was the deal with Maria yawning through Masters' promo and then proceeding to watch paint dry for his match. WHY does WWE feel it's necessary to hammer home how boring their own workers are?! Seriously! Has that EVER worked?

The weirdest thing about the promo is that it is nearly an exact copy of one that the two did in OVW a few weeks back. Same setup and there were even a couple of shots taken directly from the original OVW version (not to mention that the smoothie shop is here in Louisville).
The original OVW video had more "training" occuring, but most of those were actually a bit lighter in humor. If I remember, "courage" featured Neighorhoodie knocking a cup of coffee out of a cop's hand, while "speed" was covered with the two chasing down a forest ranger, elbow-dropping the guy (while out of camera-range) and stealing his hat.
Anyway, interesting to see WWE transplanting not only the characters from OVW, but their previously-done promos as well. Whether that's a good thing or not in this case, I'll leave open until we see what they do with them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it all based around Jeff Hardy mocking _NM by comparing their press conference last week to watching paint dry? Then Maria joins by watching it dry. The tag triple threat was lots of fun packed in a short time.
The crowd seemed white-hot all night, and I was very curious to see the reaction to Cena's hot tag. Alas, the dastardly Edge prevented it, so instead we got the cool Carlito-stops-Edge-but-Orton-gets-Trish-anyway ending. I espeically loved Orton being in the ref's blindspot the entire time (even post-RKO), with Orton mocking the ref with the you-can't-see-me. (I also liked Orton getting busted for using the ropes with the ab stretch, so he tags out to Edge while still holding the stretch.)

My own experience was that I had thought they were making fun of Masters, but then it turned out to be the first of many cuts to Maria, so hindsight suggests it wasn't directed at Masters. | redsoxnation

They did attempt to burn a flag at MSG for the 1st anniversary, so it wouldn't be surprising if Vince did something in MSG on that date. Those that entered into a coma after SD from 7 years ago can come out of it and watch the same match main event RAW. Also surprising Vince didn't taunt Foley by destroying a picture of Katie Couric in his desperate attempt for mainstream attention. Of course, they can always have Cryme Tyme steal Chuck and Billy's Gravy Boat. That could get Vince some attention.

Unless they come out and stink up the place with their first match. I don't think the voice-over guy will be involved (although that would be fun if he was actually their manager or whatever the hoodie parlance would have it as).

I have no idea what this means*, but I'm sure it means something. Something like "the guy we put in charge of these should stop being in charge of these."
* - well actually maybe it just meant they did Justin's favorite "white guy acting corny hip" to make sure people got it was a parody (oops), and the Edge thing maybe was to make it shorter, but I like to think on a grander scale | tlmkr38

It is on the TV but I am usually reading suring it. Vince and DX is old. I mean heck, I know as well as anyone that it is all scripted but if you want to make people believe they actually hate each other do ya think DX would really care less who wins a match???
I know personally if someone beat me with a pipe in real life and I hated them I wouldn't care who had the check in the win box, just who was in the hospital afterwards... Maybe i am just getting too old to watch this now and I seem to be more logical about it. Naw I thought this years ago.....LOL!!!!

Finally got around to watching the show (and first time watching RAW at all in a few months), and -- hey, that guy was in TNA for a few weeks, wrestling as Edward Chastain (he had Don Cyrus as a manager). I thought he was pretty neat, but mostly because he wore a tie, which I always appreciate.
He also wrestles as Iceberg -- I haven't seen any of his indie stuff, but apparently he's quite the hardcore fella. Well, he sure took those chairshots.
