It's time to WAKE UP! Its MONDAY NIGHT RAW Live on Sci-Fi in Alantic City, NJ!

OPENING: DX goes on a spray painting spree. Promps Shane to come out and open the show. He says Vince has lost a piece of his heart to DX. Any ways, out comes Edge with Lita. Edge is pissed he had to take swim last week. He wants Cena fired! Que Cena! Out he comes...Edge here is an offer. I'll go to Smackdown, that sounds good, all I want is one more shot for that belt. Edge says ok but I want two things...where and what kind of match. Cena getting ready to take off when Shane grabs him. Says he needs to learn respect for him and the WWE champion. DX has a match tonight but so do you John. Let me introduce your opponet. It's, midget, Masters! Chris Masters the Master...I can't say it. He's off the juice and looks so unimpressive and his arm just jiggled. That brings us to the first ad break.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Cena and Masters are going at it. Masters into the corner...I some back and forth moves that leads to Masters getting ready to put on the "Masterlock". Cena reversed into the STFU! Wait its Edge again! He starts to tar and feather Cena with punishment. Chair and then going "ECW" by breaking out the table and proceeding to throw Cena through it. Edge announces the match in Toronto at Unforgiven. A TLC match in which Edge is undefeated in. Edge leaves and we get a second ad break.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Shane is having a comference with Cade/Murdoch and Haas with Big Vis. Shane says he already has the DX opponets. Vince calls and he's at a private hide away. He's ordered some steak and what shows up are cocks! With the worst dubbed over rosters I've every heard! WTF are you trying doing WWE saying roosters call like that ever second of the day. Hey, back at the arena Carlito and Trish are walking along. Carlito wants to say good by the propper way since he found she's leaving. A warm, almost on the verge of making out, kiss. Randy Orton messes it all up. How evil is he? That leads to another ad break.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: We get footage from last week with Kane vs Nitro for the IC championship where Umaga runs in! He puts out Kane because he's not even here tonight. It's time for the Back to School Schoolgirl Match. Winner gets to spank the looser. They're fighting in the corner. The reverse choke by Candice. It's the Torrie wilson version of the stink face. No Candice counter by biting her butt! Candice recovers to grab the paddle. Well, Candice doesn't want to spank Torrie. Candice wants spanked! No reaction from the crowd...so anti climatic.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: This week in wrestling history. British Bulldog vs Bret Hart in England for the IC Championship. Hey....Hey! Hey...nothing you can say! It's RANDY ORTON.out for something...oh, yeah, Jeff Hardy. Slightly scaled back Jeff Hardy he looks more like the tag team Jeff Hardy than Enigma Jeff Hardy. Orton taking it to Hardy first. Fans chanting for Jeff. Jeff pounding Orton in the corner. Swinging midsection dropkick in the corner. Clothesline over the top rope on the entrance side by Jeff. The wisper in the wind springboard body attack nail Orton. That leads to the run in by...

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: JR breaks out slobberknocker for a clotheline we missed during the break. We have Hardy on the mat in a head lock. Ouch, Hardy missed the suicide middle rope dive. Just a bit short and Orton giving the sell. Snap mare back into the head lock by Orton. Side suplex by Hardy. Three clotheslines by Hardy...Orton missed the dropkick. Double heels to the midsection. Flying dropkick to Orton. Orton nailing the thumb to the eye and move I mised to take down Hardy. Orton going for a Powerbomb? Hardy reversed. Mid air crash between Orton and Hardy. Orton avoiding the Swanton. Carlito spit of apple! Twist of Fate! Swanton! One...two...three! Jeff Hardy is the new number one contender for the IC strap. Back in the locker room DX is still making fun of the shirt with rooster. HHH: Hey, it's the cops. Like he hasn't said that before. We're reminded that Vince has done many things. Steph married the guy that has the worlds biggest PENIS! I think Shawn was late on the cutoff. Then the go into infomerical mode to introduce the new DVD on Vince McMahon. If you're not down with that then they have two words for you...CROWD: SUCK IT! HBK pointing around and at Shane.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: The Marine preview...hey this looks better than See No Evil. Cena vs T1000. The Sheepwackers are at the announce booth. Highlanders...great. Hacksaw and Eugene are out to take on the neutered Spirit Squad. Eugene sends two memeber flying into announce table. That causes a big scuffle between Spirt Squand and Highlanders. Ref ejects two members of Spirt Squad. Then he outs the Highlanders. Meanwhile in the match. Eugene is getting worked over by the Mitch. We get a tag and Hacksaw cleans house. Hacksaw misses the three point stance and nails the exposed steel. 1...2...3! Spirt Squad wins! UMAGA! Runs off the squad and once again takes it Eugene who was his first fued. Estrada says Kane had it coming as pay back from Summerslam. Umaga is the ONLY monster in the WWE. Next up a press confernce by Melina.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Footage of last week with Mick Foley kissing ass. Melina and Nitro are out for the "Press Conference". Mic on...cut it please. Hounding Melina for comments? What did you expect her to do? He's Johnny Nitro. Well, it's just a Nitro interveiw. More kissing tonight on RAW here on the Sci Fi. Melina gets to speak...she's saying he's middle aged and fell for her. Hmm...nice...shut up Melina. Ok, this has gone five minutes to long. Move ON! Nearly pointless.
Next we have Mickie James vs Lita. Why does this feel out place?

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Slam of the week: Lita winning the WWE Women's championship. Review of Orton and Carlito with the Trish Kiss. Mickie looks pissed. JR: "Mickie make Linsey Lohan look sane." Mickie charges and goes flying out of the ring. Lita stalking Mickie in middle of the ring. Micke starts controling Lita after a enziguri, hits flying forarms, monkey flip in the corner. Mickie countered into a pin and Lita grabs the rope! 1...2...3! Lita retains! Next up DX vs the mystery team.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Are you ready? DX the team of HHH and HBK are out! HHH has the mic...are you ready? Atlantic City I said are you rrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaaaddddddyyy? Lets get ready to SUCK IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTT! If you're not down with that then we've got two words for ya? CROWD: Suck it! It's some of Smackdown's best. Kennedy, Finlay, and Regal...what an ad break at 10:57pm ugh..ok

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: It's a handi-cap tag team match. Regal is working over HBK. Finlay lays out HBK on the outs HBK on the outside. It's the little bastard. JR: How the hell did he get under our ring? JL: Everything is under those rings. Smackdown still under control of HBK. Finlay misses HBK in the corner an hits the ring post. Are we going to see the "hot tag"? Finlay tag...HBK tag. HHH cleaning, house of fire, HOUSE! Double A spinbuster by the Game. Superkick...Pedigree on REGAL 1...2...3! Shane saying cut the music. WTF it's 11:05! Shane has two more words Big Show! The club to HHH. The Game is getting beaten down. Chokeslam! HBK getting the cluch backbreaker into the clutch. Vince it OUT! We're really over 11:05 now. Lead pipe to HHH. Vince choking and busting up his own son in law. Talk about working out frustrations. Hmm...HBK now getting the same treatment. Coaxle cable around the neck of HBK. HHH and HBK laid out. They're busting out Hell in the Cell! Wow...and it's 11:12 on the long side and we the copyright info and we're out. Don't forget to watch the replay...

Well, that wasn't to bad. It didn't exactly all click. Hey, I'm still out on ECW so if somebody wants to do it tomorrow feel free.

***EDIT***
Been internetless all evening...that's why it's late. :-D

The first segment was okay, and the less Vince the better....Masters/Cena was your formula Cena match....The Vince/Cock thing is another example of WWE pounding a joke into the ground....Torrie/Candice was pointless....Orton/Hardy was pretty decent. How many #1 contender matches do we need thought?....

SS/Eugene-Duggan was short and sweet, but why is Umaga beating them up again?....JR's Katrina mention: too soon....Johnny Nitro's press conference was worthless....At least they kept Lita's match short....DX got done with the three Smackdown guys too easily....Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the McMahons/DX is done for the time being.

Wow, after reading that, it sounds pretty negative. There wasn't much too like for me though.

Quick thoughts from the bits of the show that I saw:

-JR was senile as all hell during the Orton/Hardy match. Apparently Orton is a 5-time tag champion (not Hardy), and Hardy finished Orton with a Twist of Fate, not a Swanton.

-I could have sworn that Hardy was getting DQ'd right after Carltio's interference, because he was choking Orton on the ropes, the ref counted to five, and then appeared to call for the bell.

-If I had to guess, the tag team silhouette was Bob Holly and Steve Austin.

Man, remember how the conventional wisdom with MNM was that the guys were the workers and Melina was the charisma? That sure got blown out of the water tonight. Nitro carried his end of the promo well, if generically, but Melina just rambled on forever.

It looks like Trish will get a nice sendoff in her hometown against Lita -- though if the notorious Toronto crowd boos her, that would be pretty funny. I also like how WWE remade the Sting/Jarrett title vs. 'retirement' angle with Cena and Edge in about five minutes, while TNA is taking three dang weeks.

So Unforgiven is shaping up to be...
* Hell in the Cell
* Edge/Cena
* Trish/Lita
* Nitro/Hardy (with a healthy dose of Foley-ference)
* Umaga/Kane
* Spirit Squad/Highlanders

Ross sounded all night like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Then again, the crowd seemed to give off that feeling too.

Yes and yes.

Some other thoughts:
* Cena going to Smackdown actually wouldn't be a bad idea, since the intentional "down period" for Smackdown was only supposed to be for the Summer. That, and they could use the star power with Rey going on the shelf soon for knee surgery.
* I was surprised to see Masters back so quickly. Lawler: "He's leaner and meaner!" Translation: "He's off 'roids and grew an Evil Spock goatee!" Oh, and the individual that decided Masters' first match back should be against a guy who has to be carried to a good match himself needs should be canned.
* I already have to suspend disbelief to watch wrestling in the first place. It takes more effort to pretend that the wrestlers don't know there's a camera right in front of them, but after awhile you get used to it. However, talking to someone on a cellphone and then going to SPLIT-SCREEN is just too much for me. I'm sorry, but it is.
* WWE should find "Divas" who know how to be sexy.
* The Hardy/Orton match bored me to tears. It was just Jeff doing his usual stuff, and Orton looking unmotivated in every sense of the word. The spot with Orton putting his leg up to block Hardy's suicide dive and then playing possum was awful and confusing (to the point where at first I thought it was a blown spot). Looking back on it, I think it was a combination of bad camera angles and poor execution. Even on the replay from the ground, it looked poor.
* Look, I understand that people want to see a tag division in the worst way. But if that division is going to comprise of The Spirit Squad, Hacksaw/Eugene, and The Highlanders? I'll pass, thanks. Better to have no division at all than an absolutely miserable one.
* I'm sure the Melina/Nitro Press Conference looked good on paper, but in practice it was a disaster. It wasn't so much that Nitro and Melina can't cut a good promo (in fact I was surprised in that Nitro was actually passable), but that they were sent out and given way too much time to say very little.
* Keeping with the subject of time, not enough was given to the main event (the match itself I mean). In a show that was chock full of guys who seemingly have forgotten (or never learned in the first place) how to have a halfway decent match, this was more than watchable and would've been great if it was given just five more minutes.

As a whole, I found this show to be incredibly dull and chock full of filler. Every segment seemed to fall flat on its face (both in its execution and the crowd's reaction). Additionally, every match with a minor exception of the main event was a stinker. Not in that they were just short throwaway matches, but that for even short throwaway matches they were pretty poor. Nobody really struck me as putting in a whole lot of effort.

You know, maybe it's me. I'll be honest and say that I went into tonight's viewing with some level of cynicism after last week's show (which to me was quite irritating). I hate sounding so smarky in my critique of it, but I'm finding more and more that there's not a whole Hell of a lot on RAW that arouses anything resembling interest.

Edit: What was with JR's "this could be a Katrina-like disaster" comment (I'm paraphrasing) when Umaga came out? Did that come across as crass to anyone else?

So supposedly, we're supposed to believe that Mick Foley put up with as much as he did (including losing the "I Quit" match and kissing Vince's ass) because Melina was supposed to be the next huge star?

After watching her promo, I seriously wonder about Mick's eye for talent.

Anyone else notice the nasty way Regal took the pedigree? He tucked in his chin on the way down and I swear it looked like he landed right on the top of his head while his back was still facing up at the same time. Nasty. Then right after that, the cameras were working real hard not to show the ring or him lying on the mat, even after Big Show & Shane showed up.

I just watched the pedigree again on the USA replay and it's pretty sick.

yeah, I was worried about Regal there. He also never re-entered the ring after Show came out even though everyone else did.

I think Jeff, in landing, fell on Randy's leg and twisted it unpleasantly. He wasn't playing possum, he was hurt but had to get back up since he was now supposed to take over.

He wanted to give her the bigtime rub (ho ho ho) for sure, but I think he lost the I Quit match because he genuinely wanted put over Ric (see Foley and Flair arguing over who was going to lose because they both wanted to). And he kissed Vince's ass to set up returning for a program against Vince.

I agree with the general sentiment that things just weren't firing on all cylinders last night. They had a lot of stuff that must have looked good on paper, but just didn't come off right in execution. The guys in all the matches seemed pretty listless (did they just do an oversees tour or something?) and the promo spots seemed unfocused. For example, the Nitro/Melina press conference. Nitro held up his end pretty good, but you'll notice he repeated himself a couple times. Melina, well she knew where she was eventually supposed to go, i.e. that Mick is beneath her, but she seemed genuinely lost during the first part of her promo where she was supposed to be explaining why they were ever together in the first place. In fact, I still don't know what she was trying to tell us there. Overall, if you'd cut that promo by about a third, it would have been excellent, but as it stands it was pretty mediocre.

Although considering the promo was coming in the guise of a "press statement", basically it's the one time where the writers would be justified in putting something coherent down on paper rather than having it sound like a promo.

I know about suspension of disbelief and all, but after last week and the defacing of the jet, limo, and WWE HQ, why hasn't Vince simply fired DX yet? It seems he hasn't even considered it an option, even after they start vandalizing items that cost millions of dollars and driving him to the edge of a mental breakdown.

On the Press Conference: When Nitro said In Conclusion, the crowd should have spontaneously given a standing ovation.
Only this company could make a match involving 2 Playboy Playmates and a paddle dull.
Smackdown for 3 years if Cena loses? That's worse than getting sent to Outer Mongolia.
Please let HITC be the blow off for McMahon's/DX. Maybe they can all go to Outer Mongolia for 3 years as well.

I would rather see 1000 Arquettes wearing the title belt than have to hear Melina ever again. For Nitro's sake, I am glad he's better in the ring than he is on the microphone. I don't remember the last time I've seen a wrestler in such dire need of Bobby Heenan in a long time.

Without getting into the exact dollars and cents of what the DX shirts/the principals are worth money-wise, I would just guess it's the old "The only reason I keep Austin around is that he makes me richer" justification from 1998.

Besides that, it gives him justification for beating the hell out of them. I did enjoy that aspect of the ending. The rest of the show was pretty blah otherwise.

(edit) Oh yeah, and can Edge make it any more certain that he'll lose?
Specialty match that he never loses - check.
Home town - check.
If he wins, this'll be a tremendous upset by recent wrestling standards.

It absolutely was (I only know this because of being on the CZW board and reading about everyone noting it), and it sounds like Claudio (HEY!!) was the highlight of Raw tonight.

I didn't watch any of Raw after 9:30, but you all make it sound truly awful. And considering how most of you give ECW the benefit of the doubt each week, I'm inclined to think you all were right about Raw being bad.

I thought RAW was one of the better ones, in that, it built the next PPV rather nicely. Based on last night's show, Unforgiven is bascially all booked.

Johnny Nitro looked as though he was reading off of a cue card. That being said, I'm looking forward to his all-but-offically-announced match at the PPV against Jeff Hardy (who has really busted his ass the past 2 weeks).

Is it me or is Chris Masters built just like Randy Orton now?

So, Unforgiven has a TLC match & a Cell match? That should get a decent buyrate.

There's really no excuse for the first minute of the pole match to consist of the girls switching places on the turnbuckle. One doesn't expect workrate in that kind of Diva match, but that might be the laziest booking in RAW history.

Good to see Masters back and see Edge working the "intense desperate heel" angle. I'd like to see Foley join DX for that HITC match, but it makes more sense for Sabu to be their partner, and I can't see Vince allowing them to even the odds.

Big Show is getting a lot of face time recently, and he's worked through it pretty well.
