Well, they need SOMEONE who can defend. But, consider that the Knicks are obviously way over the cap and have to pay luxury tax. Jeffries may be making $30M, but the Knicks will have to pay $60M for him.
I think itís clear Zeke is clearly looking for short-term fixes to save his ass. Remember, heís only got this season to right the ship or Little Jimmy Dolan will have to find a new president, a new GM and a new head coach.

Another small forward? Rest assured, Knicks fans, you won't have to put up with Zeke's bullshit after this coming season. God knows how long it'll take the next guy to clean up the mess he made, though.
Two sources close to Ernie Grunfeld told The Post on July 19 that the Wizards GM was confident Jeffries would return to Washington because Grunfeld planned on matching any mid-level offer and did not foresee another team surpassing that reasonable price.
Of course, the key word here is "reasonable", meaning Isiah may just pony up that much more to ensure the roster's 10th small forward.

You know, it is at that point as a Knick fan that I am not even surprised or upset at the shitty deals and signing our ass clown of a GM/Coach makes. I hope they only win 7 games this year. But I know that Zeke will squeeze out 30-35 and claim improvement and then remind Dolan of the pictures he has of Dolan fucking a zebra and remain as coach for another year.
