This was at an advance critics screening that he was attending as his job. He wrote a review anyway based on the first half of the movie he saw. I wonder if he found it worth quitting his job over. While there is no such thing as negative publicity, this seems like it.
I haven't yet seen Clerks 2, but I was tremendously disappointed by Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. So I believe it could suck bad. On the other hand I like Kevin Smith as a comic book writer. Promote this thread! | | oldschoolhero

He's not a reviewer, he's a soundbite machine, and this is actually pretty good publicity for a movie designed to be known as profane and lowbrow. | EddieBurkett

Siegel just DOESN'T understand why making a scene was unprofessional. He keeps "blah...blah...blah" Kevin Smith any time Smith brings up how unprofessional he was, or keeps saying "Oh, come on, it wasn't anything."
And then at the end of the whole thing, Siegel didn't even realize he was talking to Smith. | j.hov

Great. So Kevin Smith's reaction to Seigel being unprofessional and immature is to be unprofessional and immature back. I'm as tired of Seigel as anybody but seriously Smith's "i'm so hip because I speak my mind and use the f word a lot" act is just as tired and annoying. Please someone, make them both go away. | ges7184

| #9 Posted on 20.7.06 2013.03 Reposted on: 20.7.13 2020.10 | I will admit that I "walked" out of that Opie and Anthony clip before it was done (however, I don't think I was being disruptive). But I listen to enough to get the general gist, which was Kevin Smith being determined to prove that he is the bigger asshole of the two.
And in fairness to Seigel, I never once heard the crew introduce the people he was on the air with. They just jumped right in as soon as he got onto the air. How the hell was Seigel suppose to know he was talking to Smith? Kevin Smith isn't THAT famous, and he certainly not one many are going to recognize by voice alone.
Of course, both Seigel and Smith are just creating/using the situation for self-promotion. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
