I have been struggling trying to land a community college teaching job here in central California for over a year now, and my problems have likely only just begun. Not only are those jobs very hard to find in the first place, but the college scene in California is especially dictated by a ton of politics and political correctness. With that in mind, an instructor colleague of mine at a private trade college has helped me put words to my frustration with public junior colleges. I've decided to run with this and provide a little knee-slappin' conservative southern humor for ya'll. Join in if you think this is even 2% funny.

"If you are a black female Venezuelan lesbian...you might be a college professor in California."

"If you've ever been repremanded by the Communist party after calling for a Marxist revolution at your local PTA meeting...you might be a college professor in California."

"If you would like to see Egypt invade Israel and enslave Jewish people to work the Pyramids...you might be a college professor in California."

"If you think Mother Teresa and *Louis Farakhan* should be canonized by the Catholic church...you might be a college professor in California."

etc.

Forget California, DMC. Come meet some of my professors out here at fair UMass Amherst. The classroom is not for learning, it seems; now it's a soapbox.

Ahhhh! The joys of going to a technical institution, where there really isn't any politics on whether F=mc^2 or whether energy is conserved (it always is, thank God). Gravity is a constant (at least here at sea-level), and you can (almost always) assume that friction can be neglected.

I feel bad for everyone that has to put up with the always slanted (left or right, take your pick) liberal arts college.
