(image removed) American Floyd Landis took the leader's yellow jersey after Thursday's stage 11, and held on today. He's got eight seconds on Frenchman (and previous jersey wearer) Cyril Dessel. I wouldn't. But is it an accurate assessment to say that this year's installment is at least more interesting in part because of the lack of soul-crushing favorites? Not just Lance, but Ullrich, Vinokourov, et al.

So you're backing him in to win it all?
Nah, I don't know the first thing about cycling, outside of you have to ride a bike, and that Lance Armstrong kicked a lot of Frenchie ass, then went home to Sheryl Crow's ass. To steal an overused PTI term, if Jan Ullrich came up to me and said, "hey, my name is Jan Ullrich" I still wouldn't know who he was.
