The Trailer (movies.yahoo.com) for ROCKY BALBOA is out and no matter how bad I know it's going to be, just hearing the music and seeing the clips from the fight scenes, it gave me the chills.

It already looks much better than Rocky V. The idea makes sense, it has the traditional Rocky structure, and Stallone is still probably pissed off at how badly Rocky V turned out so he might be inspired enough to make a halfway decent film this time.

Call me mildly intrigued.

I have been in love with the Rocky movies since II came out and I was a little kid. I have had my own copies of the first three films in one format or another since LaserDisc, and I can probably still go through all of Rocky III on mute and give the dialogue myself.

Needless to say, as ridiculous as a sixth Rocky film might be, this trailer has gotten me feeling like I can run up a whole lot of stairs. December 22 can't come soon enough.

I gotta agree that it looks much better than Rocky V. Sly got himself in great shape for this. He just turned 60 a few days ago. wow. I noticed the lack of Adrian in the trailer and from the credits on IMDB (outside of archive footage being used). I won't spoil it here, but Wikipedia has a detailed plot outline of the movie with spoilers.

THe thing is, in Rocky V, even the trailer sucked. This seems like it might be an enjoyable film. At least partially.

Granted, it's the same movie as before, but the trailer made me want to see this. I will, however, skip the next Rambo installment.

Am I the only one here who actually enjoyed that last Rocky movie?

With that said, I liked the trailer. It looks REALLY good.

Damn it! I was all set to dismiss this movie but the trailer has me pretty interested in it. Looks promising.

I'm okay with the teaser and the plot. Add me to the "wow..looks better than I ever thought it could be" camp.

But they could've picked a better name for the opponent. Isn't that the same name as the hero from "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"?

I'm not sure how this movie will turn out. I will definitely end up watching it though since I thought all the other movies were great except for V and I'm curious about it. Let's just all hope this will be the last movie in the Rocky series.

Yet another in a long line of stupid, pointless, and unecessary sequel. Has everyone already forgotten Rocky 5? That movie was a joke to moviegoers really. I can't buy this premise of a conflict being started by a computer video game at all.

The little joke at the end of the trailer was hella lame.

Yes. Unless you've mentally blocked out Rocky V and you're actually referring to Rocky IV, in which case I also enjoyed the last Rocky movie.

I enjoyed V much more than IV or III for that matter. It brought the series back to the original grittiness of the first two, while III and IV seemed to revel in the excesses of the 80s and the cold war.

The "losing all my money and getting brain damage" happening at once seemed a little far-fetched, but I wasn't expecting another Academy Award for Rocky V. I also did enjoy the street fight that concluded the movie, including the cameo by Burgess Meredith.

It was a good note on which to end the series-the character ended up in the same place he started from. Nevertheless, here we are again for the sixth installment.
