They really made it look like Dan Dorrity was not going to come back next week. Very funny to see Captain Turner doing his pre-fight exercises. Speaking of funny, I wonder how many takes they did before they got the final shot of Con Stapleton and that prostitute he was playing "ship's captain" with? I'd love to see the blooper reel for that one!
I'm a fan of Brian Cox and all, but I sure hope this theater business becomes interesting since it's taking up time that could be spent on Calamity Jane.

Wow. Is it possible Deadwood is the best show going right now? This season has been a consistent slow burn toward what can only be a bloody and hellaciously-violent end. Nothing surprises me anymore. I fell hook, line, and sinker for the set-up of Dority getting whacked. And I love that I was wrong, but damn. I couldn't look when the Captain's eye came out.
Great episode this week. They managed to keep Joanie out and use Tolliver the way they did when he was initially an interesting character. Alma's addiction comes to the forefront, and now she may lose the bank to Trixie, of all people. Not sure how Bullock is going to get involved with Alma's storyline, as I no longer care to see them together again. Ross and Rachel they are not. Also, E.B. slightly redeems himself for being such an ass the past two years, tipping Bullock to Hearst's whereabouts. Farnum was top notch this week.
Line of the show: "I miss our morning coffee." (Farnum)
After the past couple weeks of things being quite calm, it was clear the peace would not last. But never did I expect one confrontation after another! Bullock was only baiting Hearst into giving him a reason to place him under arrest... but who else was giddy at the thought of those two fighting it out?
Who's going to kill Hearst? Up front, I'll take Swearengen. It's easy money. But my darkhorse is Farnum.
