I just caught the newest episode of Deadwood and I believe it's the first one in a while where someone didn't get killed. Gerald Macraney plays evil wonderfully as George Hearst, and I think Calamity Jane will have competition with his new cook for "most foul-mouthed female" on the show. Richardson and Farnum continue to have the best dialog on the show.

I figure, if they go the somewhat obvious route, that she will be Hursts downfall. I mean he has something up on everyone right now, but she's blabbing and that'll get him. Maybe.

Then again I didn't think they'd ever make Al look weak, so what do I know.

I nearly did a spit-take when Richardson gave Farnum the thumbs up.

This is thing the about this show that The Sopranos seemed unable to accomplish. This episode was fairly inconsequential in terms of plot development - save for a couple of moments. But it was still pretty damned entertaining.

Color me very happy that Joannie and Tolliver weren't focused on very much in this episode. At least not together.

How awesome is this show now that Brian Cox has shown up to join the cast? Can't tell if his character is gay or not - it seemed as if Swearengen knew something he wasn't telling the newspaper editor.

The timeline seems to be shuttling along fast. One week, Alma was dying. This episode, she's totally fine. And in tonight's episode, she is said to be opening the bank. Can't wait to see where things continue to lead with her and Bullock.
