About like you'd expect (ie about as bad as you'd expect, which makes it good). I haven't listened to it in Spanish yet, though - I bet it's better in Spanish. ;-)

So what does that release by Freddie Mercury sound like? I'd imagine it's in a disco vein, given the involvement of Giorgio Moroder (of "Midnight Express" fame).

This is a single off the "Metropolis" soundtrack, which Moroder put together in 1984, so it's really more new wave-y than disco-y. But it's also unmistakably Freddie Mercury-y. So I imagine this description won't help you at all, actually. ;-)

I haven't heard back from them. Who knows? ;-)

The "Flashdance" 12" - along with a lot of those other disco 12" singles - I bought at the WFMU Vinyl Fair from a guy who was unloading them for $1 each...despite having outlandish "$12.99" and the like pricetags on them at the time.

That's the laugh of a man who's still living high on all that 80s Pepsi money. I don't think Lionel's look that alive since he introduced the world to his extended, impressive dancing skills in "Dancin' On the Ceiling".

I think that the Holy Grail of music-related paraphernalia would have to be the giant clay Lionel Ritchie head that that blind girl makes in the "Hello" video. Someone out there has to have it.
