The IWS Celebrates its’ Freedom to Fight!

The International Wrestling Syndicate is pleased and proud to return to Gatineau, Quebec, just across the river from Ottawa, our nation’s capital. It is only appropriate that within sight of Parliament Hill, a symbol of freedom to millions of Canadians, that the IWS will be celebrating its’ own freedom - its’ Freedom to Fight!

One man who will not be celebrating his freedom, in fact a man who has seen his freedom to fight suspended, is Pierre Carl Ouellet. IWS Owner PCP Crazy F’N Manny has decided to suspend PCO for trying to kill the Green Phantom last Saturday during Un F’N Sanctioned 2006 by throwing the Phantom off the Medley’s balcony through three tables.

PCO was originally scheduled to take part in a Four Way Dance for the IWS title against IWS Champion EXesS, Viking and the Green Phantom. PCO’s replacement is former IWS Champion, Kevin Steen. This will mark Steen’s first chance to win back his IWS title since his match against Franky the Mobster at Un F’N Sanctioned 2005. Steen’s history with EXesS is well documented: Steen’s very first match in the IWS was against EXesS during Un F’N Sanctioned 2003 and the two men have been locking horns all over the province of Quebec ever since. Steen also has issues with the Green Phantom, going back to the Green Phantom’s fractured arm in a match against Kevin Steen during Body Count 2004. The Green Phantom and EXesS are former tag team champions who never got along as team mates and dislike each other even more since they split as a team.

The man most affected by PCO’s suspension is the number one contender to EXesS’ title: Viking. Not that any one could be considered an ally in the environment of four way dance, but PCO at least grudgingly respects Viking. EXesS, Kevin Steen, and the Green Phantom all hate the “Lutteur du Biere”.

Freedom to Fight Detailed Preview

The new IWS tag team champions, the Hardcore Ninjaz, are determined to be fighting champions, but there very first challengers may be their toughest opponents. Paranoid Jake Matthews and Tomassino have positioned themselves as the number one contenders to the tag team titles by winning the four way elimination match at Un F’N Sanctioned 2006. The Soprano Family are perhaps the most dominantly physical team that the IWS tag team division has seen since the days of Iceberg and Faces of Death.

IWS Canadian Champion, Kenny the Bastard, will also be defending his title at Freedom to Fight against Dan Paysan and Player Uno, two very dangerous opponents. Dan Paysan is on a roll having beaten a series of opponents brought to the IWS by his former valet, D’Vyne. Uno may hail originally from the Mushroom Kingdom, but his adopted hometown is Ottawa and no doubt a raucous hometown crowd will be in attendance to cheer their Eight-Bit Warrior to victory.

Gatineau will pay witness to perhaps the most unprofessional, albeit entertaining, tag team in professional wrestling history: Team Masturbation aka Beef Wellington and Excalibur. It is only appropriate that their opponents will be the self-proclaimed “Most Professional Tag Team in Wrestling”: 2.0 aka Jagged and Shane Matthews. Coming off their heart-breaking loss of their tag team titles to the Hardcore Ninjaz at Un F’N Sanctioned 2006, 2.0 are no doubt looking to climb back up the mountain to reach the promised land.

One man who knows all about fighting for freedom is CZW wrestler Joker who rather famously joined the US Army the week after Sept 11th, 2001. Having served his country, Joker will now represent his country as he faces off against Maxime Boyer of the SLI-USA. One would think that Fred la Merveille would have drummed Boyer out of the SLI-USA after Boyer attacked him in frustration after losing to Lionel Knight during Un F’N Sanctioned 2006 following an inadvertent U.S flag shot to his gut by Fred. But according to La Merveille this difference of opinion has been smoothed over.

Speaking of Lionel Knight, he will be trying to build on the momentum of his victory over Maxime Boyer when he confronts the former IWS Canadian Champion, Kid Kamikaze. This will no doubt be an opportunity for the IWS’ technical wizard to demonstrate his technical abilities by twisting Lionel into a pretzel.

Lionel Knight’s fellow UWA Hardcore Wrestling stars Cheech, Cloudy and Chris Bishop will be combining as a team to face off against the combined SLI-USA of Fred la Merveille, Jagger W. Bush and the American Idol Shayne Hawke. While talented, Cheech, Cloudy and Bishop are used to fighting against one another putting them at the disadvantage against the united force of the SLI-USA.
