Yes. Please do not be excited that your daughter is moving on to the finals! There are ugly men crying!

Although the voting percentages were close, there is quite a gap in the actual number of votes.
Based on the 50 million votes cast, which Seacrest said at some point (actually he said more than 50 million), and the percentages for each 33.68%, 33.26% and 33.06% the totals were
33.68%: 16,840,000
33.26%: 16,630,000
33.06%: 16,530,000
The difference in the actual number of votes becomes more pronounced as the vote totals go up. With each person getting 16 million and change, the difference is still quite large, considering the votes were cast in a 2-hour period for each time zone, with 100,000 votes between 2nd and Yamin.

    (I'm a little upset.)

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but then I thought for sure everyone who voted for Chris would vote for anyone but Kat and here she still is. I guess maybe those votes could have been split between Taylor and Elliott, so I dunno.

Just read some interview notes from US Today. Couple of "interesting parts:

"On the songs for the finale, "The cool thing is that this week we get to sing songs we've already sung on the show. I'm going to pick songs I can sing with full confidence, knowing the judges liked them in the past, just picking songs I know I can do well and the audience liked. At this point, I feel so much freer. It is still a competition, but we both have won, we both have record deals now. I just feel so grateful at this point that anything that happens, I don't think I'm going to take any steps backwards at this point."

So having not watched a finale since season one, is this how it always goes? They sing songs they already did? Cause that blows. And probably means she won't win because Taylor has been number one most weeks(supposedly) anyway.

"What does she say to people who thought she looked excited when Elliott Yamin was voted off this week, sending her to the finales? "I didn't hear about that. But I figured that might be the case. It's an awkward thing. You're excited and in the top two, but someone's going home… It's a ridiculous notion to me that you can't be excited to be in the top two…I made it through! And it was such a close margin. And I apologize for looking happy, I guess."

You guess? I can understand being excited, but you know an apology comes across much more sincere when you leave out "I guess". This little lady needs to go away.

Oh, come off it. What does she have to appologize for?

I didn't say she had to. I said if you're going to it comes across much better when you don't include "I guess". If you're going to do that it means you aren't really sorry, whether it was warrented or not, so to say it tends to mean you're being rude to make a point.

I didn't see the interview, but the way it reads, sounds like the reporter asked her "Why in the world would you act happy when poor Elliot got kicked off" and she responded "Uh...Gee...sorry, I'm happy that I didn't. Duh."

It may not be the most "PC" approach to answering that particular question, but it's a stupid question to start with. It's like stopping the Seahawks during one of their pre-superbowl parties and asking them, "What the hell are you guys doing?! The Carolina Panthers just LOST! Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?" What do you expect them to say?

"What does she say to people who thought she looked excited when Elliott Yamin was voted off this week, sending her to the finales?"

And can the party not wait until the camera turns off two minutes later? Look it doesn't make her the devil, it's just yet another example of her being a self absorbed rich girl. I can get if you're excited. But then if someone says "hey you might have made some people upset with that" then just say you're sorry. Don't even care if you mean it, just say it.

I would rather Kat be real about it than be a poser and try to appear crestfallen. Had I won, I would have probably jumped up and down, pointed at Elliott and screamed "SERVED!!!"

The bigger question is why were the cameras on HER family? I am not a fan of hers AT ALL but shouldn't the camera have cut to Elliott's mom and brother for their reaction? Who cares about kat's family? of ocurse they would be excited their daughter made the finals! I wanted to see Elliott's mom reaction. A didn't get it until much later. Bad camera work AI and FOX!
