The Final Walk of President Charles Logan is your Emmy clip of the year. I'm still stunned at how awesome that was.

This is the first time since the big Logan reveal that we've seen him in a crucial "decision-making" situation, and he played it with the same lack of backbone that he's played every situation so far today. Brilliant man, that Logan.

Heller's alive. Well thank God somebody survived.

But Bierko's back. Shit's hittin the fan.

And Miles is a weasel. Big shock.

I actually loved the look on Novick's face when Logan actually did act decisively in ordering the plane shot down, and you could tell he saw that something was up, because the Charles Logan he knew wouldn't be like that.

I agree with you on the Gregory Itzin for Best Supporting Actor. I have never loved to hate a character so much.

Oddly enough, the most suspenseful scene for me was Jack and Audrey finally having another moment alone in medical. I kept expecting Henderson to pop out of somewhere and do something. Is he in medical with them, or is he just in holding? Just the fact that they are all in the same building can't be good.

I'm getting the feeling that this season will have no definitive wrap up (i.e., President exposed and arrested, Jack exonerated) and that these last episodes, since the destruction of the nerve agent, are being used to set up next year (led by Logan, Papazian and Paul McGrane's heel faction).

Count me in on the Gregory Itzin for Best Supporting Actor bandwagon. If he doesn't win, it's a crime. Just think about the range he has shown since the beginning of the season. He has basically morphed from the spineless jellyfish in the early going, into this ruthless bastard we see now. And it is totally believable. The little sick grin when he realized he wouldn't have to die was awesome. I have to rank this season up there as maybe the 2nd or 3rd best (behind season 1)

While this season has been 'entertaining', I don't feel that it's been all that 'good'.

To explain, the writing has been all over the map this season. It's felt like a UPN sitcom at times, which if you need it spelled out any plainer... isn't good at all.

The POTUS makes a good villan, but with Bush in office still, it seems like they've just taken his characture and used it for the show. Watch when he walks and he's got the swagger even.

How close was that desert where the plane came down at from CTU, they got there awfully quick, and I know it sounds like a minor nitpick, but it just isn't believeable, which doesn't help any.

Also, how many 'bad guys' are there this season, I think I've lost track. There's the POTUS, Robocop, Paul McCrane, the other guy from Robocop, Miles, the Germans, my aunt Lucy, the kitchen sink... it's too bogged down. What happened to Julian Sands? Wasn't he there as well? There needed to be one guy... not everyone and thier mother. It's easy to get lost in there.

Lastly (For now), invocing 9/11 with the airplane... that told me the writers need to get switched out for next season. There had to be something more original or believable a reason to shoot the plane down, but that was all they could think of? It felt lazy and rushed. I'm rather shocked they didn't have Jack Bauer bring the plane down by himself though. Atleast they didn't go that route.

But still, it is highly entertaining, so I keep watching.

It wasn't a desert at all. It was a stretch of freeway. And while the show normally plays fast and loose with L.A. geography, this actually kinda worked. They brought the plane down on the 118 Freeway just east of the Balboa overpass. That area's about 25 minutes north of Downtown, and that's with daytime traffic. I'm sure Curtis made it in half that time at 3 in the morning and with a curfew in place.

Short but sweet:
Bluetooth gang simulates a signal from the plane that it will be used as a weapon. Prez gets to order it shot down. Jack gets the plane down ASAP so it is clear that they are not going to strike a target. Prez is forced to rescind the order. Once down, Jack meets Curtis, they get through the Marines hunting for Jack.

The crew heads back to CTU. Jack meets Audrey, who learns that Heller is alive. Bierko is being transferred to division, but shares a knowing glance with the driver of the transport. Prez knows he's done and gets ready to off himself. Miles weasels into the plot with the gang, and rats out to the Prez. Prez authorizes Miles to destroy the evidence, which he does.

Also, check www.televisionwithoutpity.com for a recap.

What is the big deal if Bierko escapes? Wasn't he just a pawn in Logan's plan to "make the country better" anyway?

Bierko was a victim of Logan's. He is who Graham/Logan/Robocop/Nathanson was selling the gas to, and who they planned to blow it up on. He started the mischief only when he realized he was doublecrossed, and that's why Logan was trying to reign him in during the middle portion of the day.

I understand that...but what real problem would his escape cause? If anything, it would be beneficial for CTU if he escapes and talks. I mean, he has no real means to harm US interests without the gas, right?

Not that we know of. But do you honestly believe its fine if the man that released nerve gas on American soil is NOT a problem?

Also now having watched the episode, does anyone know what Miles did to the recording? Did he definitely destroy it? What was that device he held next to it at the end?

Will Chloe be able to salvage any of it?

Miles really is slime and is a brown-noser just trying to get ahead. What a bastard.

My best guess is that it was a magnet and that if it didn't completely erase the information on the hard drive, it damaged the information enough so as to prevent it from being useful in the case against Logan.

On a side note, did anyone else catch Chloe as a troubador tonight on Gilmore Girls? Who knew she could play the guitar?!

I know Zed mentioned this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating.

WHY DIDNT JACK JUST PLAY THE RECORDING FOR EVERYONE WHEN HE WALKED INTO CTU????
