I think the Foley-turning-on-Dreamer angle would have been better had the writers planned things out and gotten Dreamer involved last week, so he didn't feel tacked on at the last minute once they realized that you can't have Foley turn without having someone to turn *on*. That said, they had better explain this as though Foley and Edge planned the Dreamer ambush all along.

I'm glad SOMEBODY brought that up. I thought he should've just pointed to a section that WAS chanting "E-C-W" and tried to play it up. But I also wondered if maybe he didn't hear them as well as we could at home due to the placement of mics and such around the ring. That would kind of make sense, but I don't think it was the case.

After watching this show, I realized that RAW has a really solid midcard now ... RVD, Masters, Carlito, Haas, Shelton & even Striker.

I don't get all these complaints about Foley's heel turn on Dreamer. I thought it was pretty good. For one thing, Tommy Dreamer couldn't get beaten to a pulp enough for me. I always find that entertaining. Two, I'm anticipating the point is you're supposed to care (soon) that Hardcore Legend Mick Foley shit all over ECW. All the clues are there starting last week: An ECW pay per view is coming up in a month, Styles quit, RVD suddenly is outspoken, and meanwhile, Edge and Mick Foley were patting themselves on the back last week for having "the greatest hardcore match ever." As the two participants in the "greatest hardcore match ever", they feel they've outdone ECW already and will do it again at One Night Stand against Dreamer and I'm guessing The Sandman. Edge and Foley are likely to claim they're more hardcore than ECW. I like this angle a lot more already than last year's ECW vs. WWE rivalry that set up One Night Stand. And if we can get a Beulah vs. Lita catfight out of it, that'll be the icing on the cake.

It also says she's the cousin of Brent Albright (Gunner Scott).

Interestingly she has degrees in criminal justice and public relations.

The ex-girlfriend angle is possibly off the mark. I would guess she would be billed as Mickie's sister, if the Nicky James thing is true.

However, would they have another Nicky ? - The Spirit Squad already have one. I'm sure WWE don't like having many wrestlers with the same name.

I didn't see RAW, but I'm glad to see Beth make it to TV. I was involved with the Apocalypse Wrestling Federation, where she trained and did her initial work (with TNA's Tracy and Gail Kim). Beth is deceptively strong, and you'll probably see her press slam Mickie before too long. She's a great interview as well.

I'm on board the Foley turn. He's the perfect guy to get heat on the new ECW. Frankly, he's way better known for the stuff he did in the WWE than he is for his ECW work. People only know about the ECW work because they played it up on WWE programming. All he needs to do is talk about how he didn't make it until he gave up on ECW and embraced the WWE. Instant mega-heel turncoat. Otherwise, some good matches, although they aborted the Carlito/Striker match just as it was getting good. Liked the main event, but I like just about anything with the Spirit Squad. And I hate stupid Jim Ross.

I think Foley's alignment with Edge can make sense if it's based on respect from the WM match. If WWE wants to actually acknowledge history Foley and Edge used to get along fairly well. I agree that they didn't use the best locale/opponent combination for the heel turn by Foley and I'm sort of disappointed that they didn't give us at least a little bit of a Foley-Dreamer then Dreamer-Edge match before revealing the alliance - or whatever derivation of collusion JR was trying to use.

All is well on the broadcast team. No Coach, speaks for itself. No real problems with Joey Styles, but his style suits ECW more. Good 'ole JR is back and all is right with Raw again. How very dare you call him stupid ! :-(

I'd been wondering how Mick Foley would turn heel having seen a spoiler.

The UK version of Heat now uses a guy in the corner of the screen using British Sign Language. I think there is an American version, though not sure about Canada.

I shouldn't really say that I find him quite amusing at times when he tries to sign commentry, and he tends to distract from the action a bit.

The problem though for any deaf viewers is that he isn't on screen for the whole of the show and only pops up every now and then.

The best part about last night's show was watching Kane and Big Show chain wrestle each other. Sure, it wasn't Benoit/Angle, but when Show started flipping around to escape the armbar, you better believe I marked out.

That match was GREAT, but I kept finding myself making wiseacre comments like "Geez, I wish they'd stop showing slow-motion replays and get back to the action." ;-)

Good get on the Kane mask being shown on the Titan Tron. I'm just going to assume that it's Kane's mask talking to him and this leads us to Kane putting it back on, which is good for the character. However, here's an odd deal; May 19 is, of course, a Friday. Where's the payoff gonna happen then? Does whatever happen on May 19th happen and they show us the footage on Raw? Or does Kane make an appearance on SD and unleash hellish apocalypse?

I would assume that he's going to be on SD for the strong push to the movie and the logical payoff to this angle? Maybe he attacks the Undertaker or something, that always goes over well.

The rest of the show was boring.

I tuned out most of Ross, he mumbled a lot and seemed rather unenthused. If anything, all the problems of the Foley turn could have been alleviated some if Ross had mustered up some indignation. 'How dare Mick Foley help that sonoffabitch and his jezebel? Why,Mick? why? You go straight to hell, Mick Foley.' As it was, Ross seemed as confused and indifferent as the rest of us. It was like 'Oh, Mick is helping Edge bloody that jobber. Strange. Up next Mickie Stratus vs. Maria.'

The turn was a little uninspiring, to say the least. Of course, most everything Foley has done building to his mathes the last few years have been uninspiring.

Other comments:
-The opening segment with H and Cena seemed a little forced, it didn't click like previous weeks. Though, of course, this segment was missing Edge.
-Rob's sunsent from the top was nice, but he's a really horrible talker.
-Shades of grey are fine, but you eventually have to turn someone. The crowd seemed confused all night. Either Carlito is a face or he's not. At some point, you HAVE to decide.
-I'll officially say that S. Squad are a little over-exposed. I don't need to see them main event every week. Get them a real program, not just as angle advancement for the main eventers.
-I really like that Maria comes out to emo-powerpop music.

And that's about all, really.

I thought it was different. Kind astrange seeing a match with two big men and have no power moves.

The there was the "boring" chant that ruined the experence.

That's pretty much the absolute opposite of true. With the awesome promos to build to his Orton and Edge matches Foley's often been the most passionate and inspiring part of his programs.

Then they can use the mask like Taker's urn. Take the mask, unleash the monster.

Then how come Kane didn't do a zombie situp and destroy DX after the one time they lifted his mask, took pictures...and acted all revolted and stuff? :-)

Why isn't he scarred from the fire?

At least it has a chance of bringing together the past with his present and giving him some more depth as a character.

That said, I'm probably dreaming that anything this complex is on the radar in Stamford.

Yeah, I forgot about that. He's just not quick enough to improvise. Maybe he'll get Bill Alphonso back in ECW to yell and spit into the mic.

I missed RAW this week...but I caught a few of the highlights on WWE.COM - and I have a question: On the live broadcast, did Triple H come down to his new "KING OF KINGS" music, or to his older "I AM THE GAME" theme? During the clips on the website, I'm hearing the older, but last week, it was the newer one.

The clips of Dreamer/Edge/Foley were gruesome. I can't imagine how it was watching it live. I just hope that this doesn't start ANOTHER WWE vs/ ECW war, again.
