Holy crap that was FANTASTIC. I like Mayorga, but I was glad to see Oscar shut his punk-ass up. Now we'll have to see if they can work out a deal to fight Floyd Jr. or if Oscar will retire. (I hope he chooses the latter, as Floyd would carve Oscar up, I think.)

It's also a GREAT six weeks of boxing. (Actually we're in about the middle of ten or so great weeks in a row, especially Wladimir's destruction of Chris Byrd, whcih was awesome.)

5/13 - HBO - Hatton-Collazo for Collazo's 147-lb. belt PLUS the De La Hoya-Mayorga replay
5/20 - HBO - Barrera-Juarez for Barrera's 130-lb. belt (s?) and the always entertaining Jorge Barrios
5/27 - HBO - Jhonny Gonzalez-Fernando Montiel for a 115-lb. belt AND two undefeated guys going at it on the undercard
6/3 - SHO - Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo III (enough said)
6/10 - PPV - Antonio Tarver-Bernanrd Hopkins for Tarver's 175-lb. Ring Magazine championship
6/17 - HBO - Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright for Taylor's RING Magazine 160-lb. championship
6/24 - HBO - US Heavyweight (sort of) contender Calvin Brock-Timor Ibragimov plus Dan Rafael's "Love Child" Joel Julio

I was surprised to see Oscar get up.
After the last few fights he had and 20 months off I figured he was kidding himself.
Floyd Sr basically said Oscar V Floyd Jr won't happen if he has anything to say about it.
This pretty much sums up Oscar's choices (sports.yahoo.com)

Awesome awesome fight, indeed. Going into it, I was rooting for Oscar to win, but I didnt think he would.

I wish Mayorga spoke english, because I would really like to hear his thoughts on Oscar and the fight now word for word, instead of having to read a paraphrased summary of whatever he ends up saying like I'm sure I'll have to settle for.
