If you wanted Infinite Crisis to end with a bang, you've got it! This was a HUGE issue that saw a lot of destruction and so much death that I couldn't keep track of it all! The big moments?

-Still reeling from the end of #6, the A-listers mourn Superboy...until Hal Jordan gets the word. The villains (from the end of the Villains United special) have attacked Metropolis!
-Alexander Luthor and Superboy-Prime look over the enormous battle. Alex wants to mold the new Earth in his image, but Prime will have none of it and goes ballistic again!
-Green Arrow and Arsenal are faced with Doomsday...until BOTH Supermans swoop in for the save and knock his jaw off! The image of two Supermans taking out Doomsday was one of many mark-out moments for this issue!
-Earth-2 Supes finally grabs Alex for the big face-off until Prime goes cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs again. He grabs Wonder Girl for the kill until The Flash makes the save! But which one?
-It's BART ALLEN wearing Barry's old costume! But before Bart can take him down, Prime takes to the skies towards Oa! He aims to take down Oa and cause a new Big Bang, leaving Prime as the only hero again. A shitload of flying superheroes give chase, but Prime turns up the speed and leaves them in the dust, but not before taking a few heroes down.
-One of those heroes being Breach. And when he explodes and the smoke clears, only CAPTAIN ATOM (!!) is in his place!
-Back on Earth, Batman puts the finishing touches on Deathstroke and now aims for Alex. Angered, Alex takes out Nightwing. But nothing pisses off Batman more than going after his family...
-Unable to catch Prime, the plan now is to intercept him. And who better to catch him than the Green Lantern Corps, led by Guy Gardner? The Corps initiate the Thin Green Wall, which only serves to slow Prime down. Prime uses freeze breath and heat vision to kill a whole lot of Lanterns dead. Prime tries to take Guy out until Hal makes the save, but he too finds himself in trouble until the two Supermans take Prime out into deep space.
-Alex tries to philosophize Batman to death, but his philosophies are no match for Bats' fists. With Alex down, Batman reaches for a gun (!) and looks to put him out of his misery. Wonder Woman, in an act of redemption, talks Batman out of it. However, Alex manages to escape.
-The Supermans have taken Prime to the heart of the destroyed Krypton. But that's not their destination. Their goal? The heart of a red sun!
-After landing, Prime tries to finish Earth-2 Supes with a blast of heat vision...until it fizzles. The red sun has stripped him of his power. Without an ounce of sanity to his name, Prime tries to beat Earth-2 Supes to a bloody pulp until Superman makes the save. Prime continues to take the moral high ground, but Superman takes that battle easily and knocks Prime out for good.
-The Green Lantern Corps and Power Girl land near the Supermen. Power Girl rushes to Earth 2 Superman's side, but the damage has been done. The icon known as Earth-2 Superman, the Golden Age Superman, is dead.
-With the battle over, Bart Allen reveals that the Speed Force is indeed gone. The burst of speed he used was residual. With that, he hands the mantle of the Scarlet Speedster to Jay Garrick (whose metahuman gene keeps him super fast). Meet the new Flash, same as the old Flash!

Brace yourselves. Now comes the definitive mark-out moment of this entire series.

-In Gotham City, Alexander Luthor stands in an alley, regrouping. He's already planning for the next round. But in a dark alley, he's attacked by a familiar flower and a familiar joy buzzer. It's THE JOKER! Left for dead, Alex looks up to the shadows to see LEX LUTHOR~!, who reveals Alex's fatal flaw:

"You made a lot of mistakes. You underestimated Superman. Superboy. Me. But the biggest one? You didn't let the Joker play. Now who's stupid?"

And with that, Joker shoots Alex in the face and the Luthor of Earth-3 is dead.
-The Big Three reveal that they're taking a long, deserved vacation. Bruce is going on a cruise, Diana is going out to find herself, and still feeling the effects of the red sun, a now-powerless Clark will spend time with Lois. Thus begins the year without Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
-If that's not enough of an ending, Guy and Hal meet regarding the eulogy for the deceased Lanterns. And 50 Lanterns stand watch over the prison of Superboy Prime. Now comes the ominous revelation.

"I've been in worse places than this. And I've gotten out."
--------------

And THAT is a mega-series done RIGHT!

What a fantastic ride it has been! And the fact that Superboy Prime is actually STILL alive is oddly satisfying and just adds to the aura he's created. In the span of a few months, Prime has cemented himself as THE galactic threat of all-time, surpassing the Anti-Monitor in spades.

The ONLY, ONLY gripe is that the Society wound up being nothing more than a plot device in the end. But other than that, Infinite Crisis has my absolute highest recommendation.

Why are you still sitting there?! Read this again! And again! This is THE definitive comic book series of this generation!

At least for DC. I hear Marvel's come up with this thing called Civil War.

This was certainly a great read. Anyone who's ever enjoyed DC Comics in the past 20 years or so, should read this.

I do have a gripe though... they killed the original Superman.

This is absolutely wrong to do.

Basically, they killed off the very first 'super hero'. The one character that started EVERYTHING.

I'm saddened by this.

I was satisfied with the conclusion, and even though few things ever live up to the hype, this came close. I was also a a little disappointed that they killed off the Earth 2 Superman. It was much better when he simply disappeared at the end of the 1st Crisis. While some may not have liked the Joker taking out Alex, I thought it was cool. He deserved to play a part of the story, because behind Sups and Bats, the Joker may be DC's most recognizable character.I was also glad Batman played a much bigger role in this crisis. In COIE, he seemed to just stand around, wringing his hands, and no t knowing what to do. Bats can ALWAYS figure out what to do, or at least how to try.
