| #1 Posted on 3.5.06 0033.57 Reposted on: 3.5.13 0033.58 | Holy shit, Vince McMahon continues to earn my money somehow with WWE 24/7 Online!
This month's new matches:
WWF Championship Iron Man Match WrestleMania XII Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels
Oh, yeah. That's right.
World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match Survivor Series 2002 Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Booker T
Hair vs. Hair Match Judgment Day 2002 Edge vs. Kurt Angle
I remember when the sight of a bald Kurt Angle was bizarre. Now seeing him before this match in archive footage seems bizarre! (Oops, did I spoil the ending?)
WWE Tag Team Championship Match Judgment Day 2003 Team Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero and Tajiri
Judgment Day 2004 The Dudley Boyz vs. Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam
This is surprisingly not a tag-team title match: Later that night, Charlie Haas and Rico defended the belts against Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn. Yeah, it was dark times for SD's tag-team division.
WCW World Tag Team Championship Match Slamboree 1993 The Hollywood Blondes vs. Los Dos Hombres
Lethal Lottery Tag-Team Match Slamboree 1996 Ric Flair and Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson and Eddie Guerrero
Yeah, like that could possibly end well.
15-Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal For an Immediate Shot at Chris Jericho's WCW Cruiserweight Championship Slamboree 1998 And no, I'm not naming all the participants.
The Cruiserweight Title match is shown immediately afterward.
Slamboree 1998 Bret Hart vs. Randy Savage
AWA Women's Championship Match SuperClash II Sherri Martel vs. Madusa
AWA World Heavyweight Championship Match SuperClash II Nick Bockwinkel vs. Curt Hennig
WHOA~!
ECW World Television Championship Match WrestlePalooza 1998 Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu
WCW Monday Nitro, May 27, 1996 Mike Enos vs. Scott Doll
"You people-- you know who I am. But you don't... know why... I'm here."
WCW World Television Championship Monday Nitro, 5/4/98 Booker T vs. Fit Finlay
Eugene's Debut Match RAW, 5/10/04 Eugene vs. Rob Conway
WWF Tuesday Night Titans, 5/14/86 Funk Family Barbecue
Champion vs. Champion Steel Cage Match Madison Square Garden, 5/19/80 Bob Backlund (WWF Champion) vs. Ken Patera (WWF Intercontinental Champion)
A non-title match, I think.
WWF WrestleMania VII The Rockers vs. Haku and The Barbarian
WWE World Tag Team Championship Match RAW, 5/12/03 Rob Van Dam and Kane vs. The Legion of Doom
Yup, the original Legion of Doom, which I believe was Hawk's last match in WWE before he died. *sniff*
Great, great stuff this month.

Right now, though, I just started watching the Iron Man match, and for some reason (sleep deprivation? memory overload?) I'd actually forgotten about HBK's dramatic entrance in that match until I saw his manager Jose Lothario head down to the ring alone.
My God. It still blows your mind, doesn't it? I would not have the faith to eeeever do something like that. Granted I have the benefit of hindsight and a sad memory of what happened to Owen. But even before that... ain't no way you're even getting me up there, let alone repelling me from the rafters, let alone at THAT speed! And if it means you decide not to book me to win the WWF Title at WrestleMania, so be it!
[Edit:]
Some more phenomena about this match-- this was back with the really bouncy, really loud ring that makes you cringe every time someone takes a fall, 'cuz you're thinking, "Owww, he landed on metal or something." Also, this was back when Jerry Lawler was very good on color commentary, not the oversexed hack that he is today.
Michaels' skinning the cat was much, much quicker than the way he does it now. Bret turned his back on Shawn for maybe two, three seconds tops and before he knew it, Shawn had not only skinned the cat, but started whaling on him. In comparison, HBK's current skin-the-cat maneuver is almost a parody of the way it used to be. (And don't misunderstand me, heck, I voted for HBK to win Best Wrestler 2005.)

Actually, it was THE MAULER (who is technically Mike Enos, but not in THIS MATCH) vs. STEVE DOLL!
I'm going to assume it was the WWE who got these details wrong and not you.
Absolutely terrible match. I have no idea why they'd add THAT to the Jukebox. ;-) | Whattaburger

The site lists the Iron Man match at running 16 minutes or so...is it just bits and clips of it, or did they make a mistake when they were typing up the page.
If it's bits and clips, well, that's kind of lame and takes away from viewing the match. | Mr Tuesday

It's a typo. It's the match in full, 1 hour and 16 minutes. Entrances and all. | wannaberockstar

The Slamboree match was interesting, and it was great watching Eddie with the rest of them. Why doesn't the WWE do the Lethal Lottery concept? I've always thought it was a a great idea, back in the day, that could produce some great drama (Starrcade/Battlebowl - Sting and Abdullah on the same side?).
And the Cruiserweight battle royal was classic just for Jericho's ring introductions, alone. I had forgotten all about that match.
I would of preferred a couple more matches from the 70's and 80's this month (AWA or JCP), but it's still a great crop of matches. | canis582

Let me know how the Backlund match is, that early 80's wwf style was so basic, but it whipped up the new yorkers. | Quezzy

Yes I remember this match. That was when Jericho was at his best, busting out the cruiserweight moves and gold on the mic every time out. His ring introductions for the match were up there with the list of 1,004 holds as his best segments ever. Also while the battle royal was pretty standard, I remember Jericho and the winner (won't say who it is since it was a surprise opponent of sorts) had a pretty hot match after the Battle Royal. | Simba
