For a second, Dave had me believing him. But really hot Libby comes through with the brilliant plot rescue. And now, bring on the Libby episode.

I think we only had two "Henry" segments on the show tonight, but the Hurley story more than made up for it. What the hell is going through Locke's head right now?

We're in the home stretch now, folks, after a seemingly slow season. Next week is new. That's followed by a week off (2 hour Alias), then a(nother) recap show, then the final four weeks of new episodes (including the 2 hour finale).

Next week's episode is supposed to be a flashback for...

Rose and Bernard

EDIT: For geemoney...Libby burying her co-passengers was real and her feelings for Hurley are real. She kissed Hurley while a tear streamed down her cheek. Hurley snapped back into reality and after a cute wisecrack, he asked Libby if she thinks he could ever get better. Libby responded yes while sporting a very distant look on her face (behind Hurley's back). Fade to final flashback, with a different point of view of Dr. Brooks taking the photo of Hurley and "Dave"...the point of view of Libby, who was sitting a few tables away and being given her medicine by another attendant.

They're really screwing DVR users over by running these 61 or 63 minute episodes.

Unfortunately, I missed the last few minutes (seconds?) of the show- the last thing I saw was Libby telling Hurley that she buried a lot of people, so it WAS real. If anyone could fill me in on what happened after that, it's greatly appreciated.

Decent episode. Guess somebody on the writing staff is a Palahniuk fan, with Dave playing Tyler Durden and Libby playing Paige Marshall. Does this mean that Jesus' foreskin will make an appearance in Hurley's next flashback?

I could really do without any more Jack, Kate, Charlie and /or Hurley flashbacks for a long, long time. Stick to Sawyer, Locke, Sayed, and Eko...

I was going to comment on this, but then realized I'd be spoiling the book. Oh, right! SPOILER TAGS!

Spoiler for Choke and this week's "Lost": Highlight text to read
All I know is that the revelation that Libby isn't really a therapist but a former patient was, for me, just as telegraphed as the Paige revelation. So...maybe!

We need another Eko flashback PRONTO.

So is Dave really a figment of Hurley's imagination, or is his non-existence a figment of Libby's imagination (since the last shot we saw seeming to confirm that he wasn't real was from Libby's vantage point)? It'd be kind of dumb, but I wouldn't be TOO surprised if in the season finale (or early next season) Sun asks Hurley who that man was that Jin saw Hurley with.

"Henry" tells us that God can't see the island. Although, that doesn't mean all that much, since he's busy preparing for the tag match at "Vengeance." But, more importantly...Mr. Friendly/Zeke is a relative nobody in the heirarchy of The Others. So who's the main man that "Henry" is so afraid of? I'd be tempted to say Hanso if the map didn't clearly tell us that he's dead (noting the location of his body under Blackrock).

Good episode...but they should really start calling this show "Final 5 Minutes," since that's what seems to be making every episode as of late.

When Hurley started opening and dumping all of his hidden food supply, was I the only one thinking that maybe he should just give it to the rest of his stranded companions rather than just wasting it by throwing it away ?

Although I missed it, my daughter said that when Hurley was talking to the shrink in his office, there was a picture of an island hanging on the wall behind Hurley.

Wow, that last scene blew my mind! Refresh my memory, has Libby been interacting with other people on the island, or is she maybe part of Hurley's imagination too? Or is she just another psych patient that happened to be on the flight with him?

Anyone who saw Libby play Annie Dutton on "Guiding Light" kneww she was going to be revealed as crazy. She is aces at crazy.

Claire relied on Libby to remember her time with Ethan. She can't be a Hurley creation unless everything else is.

You're not alone. I definitely thought the same thing. And furthermore, wouldn't somebody eventually FIND all this food lying around? I suppose it is a big island..

There were a lot of funny lines as usual, but the line of the night for me was when Charlie asked Eko if he was building a Starbuck's. Don't know why, but that had me chuckling for awhile.

With the revelation at the end that Libby was a patient at the clinic, I suppose it DOES leave open the possibility that the island is all in Hurley's head, but it doesn't seem very likely at all. I got the feeling from the start that Dave was imaginary, particularly when it became painfully obvious that Dave speaks EXACTLY like Hurley. Then again.. anybody remember that spanish comic book with the polar bears? Anybody remember WHOSE comic book it was? That's right: Hurley's. Yet another piece of evidence that stuff on the island is tied into Hurley's personal life.

I didn't realize until a few hours after the show was over that the reason nobody would pass the ball to Dave during the pickup basketball game was because he was in Hurley's imagination. Tricky!

The Black Rock is the final resting place of Magnus Hanso. The guy who Zeke quoted, and seems to be the main guy in Dharma, is Alvar Hanso. Probably brothers.

I don't know if this question is too obvious, but if everything were in Hurley's head, why the flashbacks for everyone else? What purpose would they serve? When I saw Libby at the end as a drooling patient, I figured, "Well, if Locke can go from a parapalegic to a mountain man..."

I did crack up when Jin was standing there laughing at Hurley kicking the crap out of Sawyer...THAT was hilarious!

But if Hurley suddenly showed up with a stash of food, wouldn't people be pissed at him for hiding it from them to start with ? Hurley wants people to like him and holding back food for himself wouldn't exactly endear him to people.

Dirty Libby is real but she is nuts. I wonder what her backstory will be and when will we see it ?

My $$$ is on Mr. Eko building a church/chapel - what we really need is him just going back out and seriously kicking some Other's ass

I thought Sayid & Ana were playing good cop/bad cop until Sayid actually pulled the trigger

and as I say every Thursday - is it next Wednesday yet ?

Not only that, but everyone ran right through where Hurley dumped all the food en route to the giant pallete of more food. I'm sure everyone was in a hurry to find out about this new discovery, but didn't they notice piles of chips and whatnot thrown all over the place?

Quite possibly, especially if she knows that he's worth as much as he is. As much as I'd like to think that Hurley's crazy for thinking he couldn't get someone like Libby, if she saw him win the lottery and recognized him, she could easily have tracked him down, knowing that she could exploit his mental instability for money.

I am slightly surprised by Hurley's inability to accept his relationship with Libby. If Hurley was able to get the record store chick to go out with him, sans money, then he should be able to accept having a relationship. Plus, I'm surprised that he didn't have to deal with more women throwing themselves at him once he did win the money.

I have to say, I expected Libby to be a doctor, not a patient. The million dollar question is whether she's actually a psychiatrist or if she's just using what she's learned from her stay.

I wonder why they made a point of Hurley mentioning the nurse's name who gave him the drugs, Nurse Lazenby. I wonder if she's going to show up anywhere else.

I LOVED this plot when I first saw it used on Buffy, although there it left a bad taste in my mouth because they had to retcon that she was in an asylum at some point. It worked SO MUCH better here. I have a feeling this is one of those things where Dave isn't explicitly wrong, but we aren't getting the whole truth out of him. Perhaps the island is in Hurley's mind, as indicated by the painting in the doctors office and the comic book and whatnot. But given the focus on everyone else, clearly, the rest of the cast isn't part of Hurley's fantasy, so this would add credence to the 'collective consciousness' theory, where the island is a manifestation of all of their thoughts, and therefore exists in all of their heads. It probably isn't, though, and I'm giving Dave way too much credit.

Although, assuming that Dave is a manifestation of the island, not unlike Jack's dad, where was the island leading him? More importantly, why does the island now want Hurley dead?

Other than Michael/Walt and Sun/Jin episodes, (and Exodus), is this the first episode where a flashback was from the PoV of a different character? Interesting that the writers are playing with the format as needed. They say that the flashbacks are important, and so I wonder if there's significance to that, beyond them wanting to reveal Libby was a patient without having Hurley remember.

Hurley vs. Sawyer was fun, if only for Hurley yelling out each nickname as he wailed on Sawyer. My only problem with that scene is that Hurley saw Jack win the medicine with his binoculars last week. He shouldn't have been there in the first place.

The show's creators have publicly stated several times that:
1. It's not "all in someone's head."
2. It's not a dream.
3. It's not the afterlife.
4. It does not involve aliens.

Therefore, Dave's soliloquy was bull.

The whole food wasting thing was getting to me too. As much as I like Hurley, if I was on the island and I knew that he wasted food like that I would want him turned over to Sayid. There's no excuse to waste food like that when the only things people have to eat are coconuts, mangoes, boar, and Jin's sea urchins.
It also really bugged me when Hurley was jamming crackers into his mouth. Half of the damn things were ending up all over the ground as he was cramming them in his face. You'd think a guy as fat as Hurley would be more careful with his food.
The thing that really pissed me off and the straw that broke the camel's back was when Sawyer threw out his oreo just because the cookie broke. You're stuck on an island with no decent food or dessert and the first time you get some sweets you toss it away because you couldn't separate the cookie right. I just can't buy that.

Oooh! I think you may really be on to something here. You know, just from the way she was staring at Hurley in the asylum, that's good support for the obsessed stalker theory. But yeah, add in a well-publicized lottery win and you have Libby as the Anna Nicole Smith of the island.

I bet he would've eaten the cookie if Hurley hadn't caught him trying something and failing. He threw it away to say, "bah, I don't care about that stupid cookie anyhow, it's unimportant."
