To suspend him now, when SD is desperate for talent, which he does have, in moderation, it had to be something BAD. If it means more Angle-Rey matches, fine. Or maybe even elevating someone else from the mid card, like Benoit, Lashley or even Matt Hardy (yeah right).

Some more info:

From WO.com:

--According to WWE sources, Randy Orton's suspension starts on April 12th.

From Figure 4 Weekly:

Some more information on the Randy Orton situation has come out. First of all, it has nothing to do with the baseline drug testing that was recently administered. Apparently Orton has been having issues since January, when Kurt Angle was brought to Smackdown. There have been a number of disciplinary problems since then that have been kept inside the company. During the WrestleMania weekend, he flagrantly defied the dress code. All of these issues have been building, causing a lot of heat with the locker room. It looks like this all came to a climax and WWE felt that they had no choice but to discipline him.

----

Wow, you mean a dude that messes with girl's gym stuff after she rebuffs him has had 'disiplinary problems recently? SHOCKING!

If the report that Orton is being suspended due to his behavior/insubordination building up to Mania and climaxing Mania weekend is true, could that be one of the key reasons why the reports were out on Mania day that Vince had rebooked Mania 5 times that day? If so, then Orton really is quickly solidifying his position of being this generations Lex Luger.

Good riddance to bad garbage.

I hope he keeps messing up and get fired.

He's so vastly over-rated...

I'm not sure they'd be so quick to dump him. I'm sure there's someone in the WWE who would feel hesitant about sending their "Youngest-ever champion" to TNA on a platter.

Hey, the guy can be cut some slack. Professionally, anyways. I've been a huge Orton detractor since day one. I did enjoy his Evolution work, and it seemed like he was improving, but being shoved into a face role as champion too fast just didn't work. After being turned heel agian, his in-ring work as well as expressions/mannerisms have gotten measurably better. He's definitely serviceable as a top-level heel on Smackdown. Apparently, though, he has some less-than-desirable traits off the screen.

From WWE:

Randy Orton responds to being suspended

Prior to SmackDown this past Tuesday, Randy Orton was told that he was being suspended for 60 days due to unprofessional conduct. WWE.com recently caught up with Orton to get his reaction to his suspension. Here is what he had to say:

“WWE has certain standards of conduct they expect out of all the Superstars on both RAW and SmackDown. Unfortunately, I violated those standards and was not representing WWE the way I should have been. Basically, my conduct was unbecoming of a champion, which is what I will be again when I return.”

There is no way Orton wrote this. It sounds like WWE legal speak. As much as I hate him, being off camera for 60 days can only do him some good. And it will also be good for my Smackdown viewing pleasure!

He comes off sounding like a punished student ordered to go in front of the classroom and apologize to the class.

Did they make him write that on the blackboard a hundred times also ?

It sounds to me like he just made sure his comments wouldnt get him into anymore trouble, so he used the standard "They have rules, I broke these rules, so they punished me" statement that we've heard a hundred times from other professional athletes after being suspended or banned from whatever teams/leagues they belong to.

Well, yea, he said it! I can't figure Orton's big on writing.

WWE surely drafted the statement to be attributed to him, and he went along with it - it wouldn't quite be the time to argue.

It would take a lot for WWE to release top level guys right now because of TNA. He will be back after his suspension, and if he messes up again, he will only be suspended again. They can do without guys like Chrisitian & Rhino, but you won't see Orton, or Angle, or Batista, releases/fired no matter what they do, short of murder.

One of the employees of the hotel Orton was staying related his side of the story to PRWrestling.com, basically he said Randy was an ass and obnoxious, and that he cost the guy his employment. Since the whole story is in spanish, I'll try to translate it if you guys want to hear his side. Let me know.

Stolen from ITVR, who stole it from DVDVR, who stole it from prwrestling:

The valet parking for the wrestlers was behind the hotel, instead of in the main entrance. WWE explained this to each wrestler. When Randy Orton arrived with his girlfriend he came to the front entrance. Our valet attendant, Nestor, explained that for security reasons he had to use the designated valet area. Orton replied "f**k you, if you think I am going to drive back there!" Orton went to the front desk and asked me for his keys. I told him that all WWE personnel had to report to the green room, a special room designated for WWE staff to check in and get their keys. His answer was "f**k THAT, YOU GIVE ME MY f**kING KEYS NOW!" I calmly and with a line of 10 people behind him, gave him his keys. Then he went to the green room. When he got there they also gave him keys, the ones he was supposed to receive in the first place. He came back to the front desk yelling "Which f**king key is going to work now?" All this because he didn't follow his group's instructions.

I again gave him new keys, but I was already upset. When he went to the room, he forgot to record the name of his girlfriend as a guest, in case she needed to enter the room and didn't have a key. He called the operator and told her he needed to talk to "f**kING ____" (the name of the employee sending this in) from the front desk. The operator complained to management about this. I talked to him and he gave me his girlfriend's name. The Valet Parking attendant also complained to management. I unfortunately was fired, for getting snappy with him, for giving him his keys without asking for ID, even though I recognized him. After this incident I also gave keys to Tommy Dreamer and Super Crazy, and only because I was already rattled.

My ex-supervisor just called me and confirmed that the suspension was because he insulted me, the operator and the valet parking attendant. He said our marketing director Andy Rosenquist talked to WWE and thus the suspension. I ended up on the losing side, because in the security video I was shown flipping Orton off.

Still seems odd to me that they'd suspend him over that, unless this is just another incident in a long string of inappropriate behavior from him. But if this story is true, what a dick!

(EDIT: I cant spell "DVDVR")

If this story is indeed true, Orton was an asshole and deserved to be suspended. But I have a feeling that this guy isn't really telling the whole story on how he acted back towards Orton.

That guy has to realize that if you have a situation with a customer that you can't resolve, go get your supervisor to take care of it. That's one of the reasons why you have a supervisor.

Indeed, sounds like the "catching me flipping Orton off" was just the tip of the iceberg on the employee's actions. But his inability to be calm and collected doesn't excuse Orton acting like an immature fool. The original report on Orton's suspension stated that it was not from some major thing, but more like a final straw breaking the camel's back. After this latest, and public, embarassment it looks like the WWE couldn't afford to let Orton continue without some kind of action on their part.

This is the part that cracks me up. Orton has two keys, and one door. He could have just tried one key and then, if it didn't work, tried the other. However, this apparently requires a bit more thinking than Orton is capable of, so he ends up being outwitted by a door.
