| #3 Posted on 11.5.02 1239.27 Reposted on: 11.5.09 1239.55 | Prior is supposed to pitch today (Saturday) in Iowa. With the injuries the Cubs have had (Zambrano and Gonzalez) I would expect them to call up Prior sometime this week. I can't see the Cubs pulling him from his start today, which is probably close to sold out to pitch for a team that is basically out of the playoff race. | odessasteps

The funny thing is that he didn't want to call in, since it was the day before his start.
On THAT level, he's ready for the show. | El Nastio

| #6 Posted on 12.5.02 1202.38 Reposted on: 12.5.09 1213.20 | Mark Prior was drafted by the Cubs out of USC last year. He is widely considered to be the best College pitcher ever. In spring training this year, he was dominating, with the exception of 1 start. Plus, he has good mechanics, wso the likliehood of him tearing up his elbow ala' Kerry Wood is reduced.
He is one of several top notch prospects that the Cubs have developed in their Farm system, currently ranked #1 (or 2) by Baseball America. Gee... only took them 94 years to figure out to rebuild in the farm system. Other top prospects include Bobby Hill (2b, just called up), David Kelton (3B0, Hee Sop Choi (1B) | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
