I have been a solid watcher of this show since Season 1, but the marked decline in the quality of the singers from the first two seasons to the second two is very noticeable. I wonder if there was a switch in the talent co-ordinators after season 2.
The show's existence seems to bank on promoting current, bigger stars (Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Kenny Rogers) and other shows and movies (Larry the Cable Guy was a guest judge last week, John Cena tonight) than they are in having a good showcase for new artists.
Disappointing, yes, but chances are I'll watch. Besides, not since Jeff Jarrett was riding a horse to the ring in the WWF have my two loves of Pro Wrestling and country music come together.

The comic genius of pairing Cowboy Troy with Wynonna is the only thing that even makes this season semi-watchable. The talent just isn't there this year - at least I haven't seen it yet. They need to bring back Miranda Lambert for a performance.

See, that's what's been really bugging me ever since I heard this. It'd be like having JBL show up at the Source awards: sure, it's that much more mainstream exposure, but why? Especially when it not only doesn't make sense for the character and personality you're trying to market, but is in direct conflict with it?
