I have been a solid watcher of this show since Season 1, but the marked decline in the quality of the singers from the first two seasons to the second two is very noticeable. I wonder if there was a switch in the talent co-ordinators after season 2.
The show's existence seems to bank on promoting current, bigger stars (Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Kenny Rogers) and other shows and movies (Larry the Cable Guy was a guest judge last week, John Cena tonight) than they are in having a good showcase for new artists.
Disappointing, yes, but chances are I'll watch. Besides, not since Jeff Jarrett was riding a horse to the ring in the WWF have my two loves of Pro Wrestling and country music come together. Promote this thread! | | Kevintripod

Maybe they will be able to talk Trevor Murdoch into competing on the second season of "Rock Star".

I'm with you there, though I wouldn't mind a Troy/Bumpy Knuckles collaboration. | dunkndollaz

See, that's what's been really bugging me ever since I heard this. It'd be like having JBL show up at the Source awards: sure, it's that much more mainstream exposure, but why? Especially when it not only doesn't make sense for the character and personality you're trying to market, but is in direct conflict with it? | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
