Najeh Davenport signs 1-year deal to stay in Green Bay.
Bad news:
Tony Fisher to St. Louis and starting center Mike Flanagan to Houston. (all articles courtesy WBAY.com)
I'll miss Fish...he was a Golden Domer and a good guy. Still, if Green, Gado and Davenport can all stay healthy, you've still got a good 1-2-3 punch in the Packer backfield.
But losing Flanagan is HUGE. He's one of few OL guys you can shuffle around to fill other slots on the line and still perform well. Guess you can pencil Ruegamer in as the starting C...not bad, but he has a penchant for holding penalties sometimes.

| #2 Posted on 27.3.06 1517.41 Reposted on: 27.3.13 1518.07 | Flanagan, while a nice guy and all, is too injury prone (or injured) at this advanced stage of his career. I'm not saying that whoever starts in his place (Wells, Coston, White, noneoftheabove) will be better than him this year, but it's time to move on. Ruegamer won't be back, so I didn't mention him.
Brett has already told the team he'll be back. It's one big smoke screen that they aren't talking about it, so teams drafting behind them that might want a QB will be inclined to trade up for one, thus assuring that the player the Packers actually want (a non-QB) is more likely to be available in the 5 slot. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
