Thread title is the question. I know it's something I've never seen covered before, but since I can't think of any other forum where I could ask...

I'm not offended. It just seems like the perfect example of a tattoo that at some point in your life you will look at and go "WTF was I thinking when I got this?"

I was trying to come up with a nice way of saying just that, but I couldnt. spf has pulled it off nicely, however.

Were you trying to come up with some kind of "I'll bet you $100 I got 'Your Mom' tattoo'd on my arm" joke?

I have to admit that my initial honest response is:

"What the hell were you thinking ?"

Wow.

That is totally going to show through a standard white dress shirt.

Somehow, my first thought was that it should go over quite well with the folks at the fisting club.

Not to mention how it would stand out at the golf course.

Did you lose a bet?

I know that tattoos don't look that great after a while. My 85 year old grandpa has one of a pirate ship and it don't look so good now. Of course he got it during WW II so that may have something to do with it as well.

I don't take offense at a tattoo that does not depict explicit violence, nudity, or foul language.-- And if you have it and don't display it for the public, I could care less no matter what your tat. I'm not the least bit curious about whether that dark patch under your long sleeve is a tattoo or a birthmark or where you spilled a bottle of dye on your arm. If you ain't tellin', I ain't askin'.

However, it does seem like a good story: "Hey, lemme tell you how I got this crazy tattoo...."-- And I, like Oliver, would be interested in hearing about it.

I would LOOVE to hear the story behind that tattoo, but I think some of the meanies in this thread may have killed off our chances of hearing it.

I'll go with the family here and paint a big WTF on my face. Just seems like a waste of money, is all.

Gives me a thread idea, though.

EDIT: Never mind, already a thread on it. Don't wanna incur admin wrath by reviving it.

I'm going to make a wild assumption that, given that he has "YOUR MOM" tattoo'd on his arm, he's not quite so sensitive that "meanies" would stop him from sharing the story if he wanted to. (Also, he hasn't logged in since last night, so he hasn't even read these replies.) My own pointless speculation in advance of the story (or not): I'm also squatting on the "bar bet" reservation.

Since we're sharing, I'll show off mine:

It goes down 2/5ths down my left arm starting at my shoulder.

My girlfriend was able to clean-up one of my first tat pics. Because I was busy taking care of my father before he died, I never was able to get a good tat pic w/o all my ointment on it. I had to put it on and make sure my father wasn't falling, or anything.

Taking a good pic was the last thing on my mind. Here's my pic:

I don't find the YOUR MOM tattoo offensive at all, I think its a great, hilarious tattoo, and I am happy to see that you got it.

Um, the key word is "you". It would only be funny on "you", not me, and damn sure not my son. For "you" though, I can laugh.

I think it's kinda funny, actually. Like when someone just kinda randomly blurts out "YOUR MOM!"
