They have said they currently do not have any confirmation from the Pats or the Colts. I believe this info came from Michael Holley, who co-hosts a show on the station and was formerly a writer for the Globe and spent a year with the Pats writing a book on the team.
If this is true...wow. It would be very interesting to know what the money is, what he may have signed for vs. what the Pats' best offer may have been. Also interesting to note that former Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt is one of the best candidates to replace Adam in New England if the Pats want to get a top kicker through free agency. | Promote this thread! | | JayJayDean

I still have a feeling Indy is in for some serious decline this year, but unless Vinatieri has the kind of year David Akers had last year, this should be a great move for the Colts.
The Idiot Kicker signing with the Patriots would be hysterical though. | Sec19Row53

Vinatieri is said to have preferred kicking indoor as opposed to signing with Green Bay (which also makes sense).
Please let Vanderjagt sign somewhere other than Green Bay. Maybe we can lure Jan Stenerud out of retirement again! | StaggerLee

| #7 Posted on 24.3.06 1725.13 Reposted on: 24.3.13 1725.13 | As a Pats fan, I will always appreciate what Adam did for us and I wish him well. You would think that the fans would be emotional and upset here, but it's the media in Boston that's going crazy. Most fans are willing to give Patriot management the benefit of the doubt (mainly because of 3 SB's in the last 5 years and no other so-called "major" player being release having come back to haunt them) but even most of the media members that supported such moves in the past are now ripped about the Pats not paying Adam.
Cold Hard Football Facts has a pretty good take on the situation. I don't agree with all of it, but still it's a good read.
