Ok, so it isn't MUCH of an explaination, but it is still AN explaination. | kentish

Perhaps they should have had Austin return to fight JBL at Mania, and put Benoit in the Money in the Bank match. - While it better for the WWE to have that prime time slot, I almost wish they were on at 11:30 to give it that real old school feel. | Deputy Marshall

I was starting to wonder if it was just me. That's what turned me off, and I was surprised to see so many people praising the show. I was pretty bored by most of SNME, but hey...different strokes and all that. | jwrestle

No, and this is a great point. Maybe the writers are hoping we've forgotten Linda's "heel turn" as well - I know that I sure WISH I had. :)
You know, I once again normally stick to one post a thread, that my wrestling friends is a damn shame. I personally couldn't see Linda as heel even with her evil grin as she said "You're Fired" and a very bad slow kick to the gonads. Came off to professional plus Vince need somebody to toss him around a bit when his stroke got to much. I'm guessing that is where the might have gone with it as just make us forget that ever happened and JR will be on special broadcasts.
Yet, it's sort of reminds me of first Cena heel turn. Him and Kidman lose match he chalenges Kidman to a match the next week. Very little story. Some on said it shortly afterward on board, might have been here on W, that it was better than no story. In this case I think it works because what they did to JR sucked. I know they were going take him off camera and off of Raw yet did they have to do it in such a pathetic way? It's Vince...yes. So I'm guessing this winds up in the bygones of wrestling history. | flairforthegold13

| #45 Posted on 20.3.06 1447.56 Reposted on: 20.3.13 1448.04 | -Opening montage was great. -The SD v. Raw match was a good choice to open up, get the show to a hot vibe. Cena and HHH is so dead in the water for Mania it's not even funny. Match was a cluster, but how could it not be. -Funniest line of the night (maybe of the year) was Booker's overacting, "I've been running the stairs, man, trying to get warmed up, trying to get ready up for this Boogeyman, and I heard something pop! I heard something snap! I heard something pop! I heard something pop! I'm hurt! It's hurt!" Booker T is tremendous, and truthfully he's at the point where he's always going to be an upper mid card (maybe flirting with the ME) guy. This Boogeyman stuff is entertaining so I'm fine with it. I'm sure Booker will win 10 more IC and US titles before he retires. -The Edge v. Foley stuff was tremendous, both the promo and the brawl. Good job in finally doing something interesting in regards to that match. -JBL did the Texas Two Step! Tremendous. Fun segment. JBL is really on fire with his promos as of late, and they clearly enjoyed being out there. -Mickie James is all kinds of awesome. The insane smile she got on her face after kicking Trish was wonderful. I get the complains that the beatdown should have been more violent, but that leads to my next point. -It's quite amazing that the E managed to keep in reasonably clean and do nothing offensive for 'shock value' or 'buzz.' There was nothing on the show that was tasteless, which considering the state of E creative is pretty admirable. -The superplex bump should have been a match-ender, not a transistion spot. Out of character break from 'Main Event Style.' I shudder to think how many independent and TNA guys will steal that spot (or create a more dangerous fascimile.) I'm envisioning a musclebuster off a ladder through tables to the ground.
I didn't mind all the promos. The show was meant to sell both the new generation (for lack of a better term) and WrestleMania. I think it did a good job of getting the characters over.
Fun show, the Henry v. UT stuff will steal die a quick death at Mania, though. | Cerebus

WRESTLEMANIA certainly earns my money now, with the Booker T/Boogeyman match. | sentonBOMB

I know what you mean... regardless of anticipated "match quality," SNME got me excited about Mania, and makes me wish I hadn't spent my allotted monthly PPV money on TNA.
I think the reason I liked Saturday's show so much was that I was proud of it in a weird way. Like I imagined non-fan friends of mine watching that show and thinking, "Well maybe this is not for me, but I can see what sentonBOMB likes about it." Which is more than I can say for any other wrestling show I've seen in the last year, really. Hopefully some people decided to give RAW or SmackDown! a chance after catching it. | Nuclear Winter
