I'm working on a list of "who trained who" in pro wrestling, and I've run into a mystery I haven't been able to solve just with Google, so I'm throwing it out here in hopes someone will know the answer.
Several sources credit three men with Tajiri's training--two Americans and "Kendo Nagasaki". The problem is, "Kendo Nagasaki" is a gimmick name used by a couple of different wrestlers. Normally I would assume that if they didn't mean the first guy to use a gimmick, they would have been more specific. But in this case, the first guy is a Brit named Peter Thornley, and the second one is a Japanese wrestler named Kazuo Sakurada. Before he took on the "Kendo Nagasaki" gimmick, Kazuo Sakurada wrestled as "Mr. Sakurada" and he's one of the guys who trained Bret Hart. Sakurada and Tajiri wrestled on some of the same cards.
Can anyone confirm which "Kendo Nagasaki" helped train Tajiri? Thanks!
