In revamped plans for Spike TV's new Thursday night lineup, TNA iMPACT! is no longer featured in a primetime slot.

Jeff Jarrett confirmed to the lockerroom at tonight's tapings that Spike TV has decided to run the hourlong wrestling program at 11PM EST when its new lineup debuts on 4/13.

Although the move carries a negative image, the revised lineup could actually lead to better ratings for the show.

In an effort to include the third season of flagship UFC program "The Ultimate Fighter" in its primetime ratings, the show has been moved to 10PM and will serve as the lead-in for iMPACT. Considering the strong audience sharing between iMPACT! and UFC programming, TNA will now get the most effective lead-in available on the network.

Beginning 4/13, Thursday nights on Spike TV will feature CSI at 8PM, UFC Unleashed at 9PM, The Ultimate Fighter at 10PM and TNA iMPACT! at 11PM.

So I think it might be better for them at 11PM. Wouldn't they have to compete against the networks huge shows on Thursdays if they had kept the prime time slot? Although I still wish it was more than an hour.

The what now?

TNA will now get the most effective lead-in available on the network.
Funny how they never created "Walker, Texas Ranger" when RAW was pulling those big numbers. Come to think of it, "Mortal Kombat" and "Babylon 5" weren't credited for Nitro, either. Oh, but UFC is different, you say? Why, exactly? I'd argue that wrestling has had a long history of not being an effective lead-in and not being affected by ITS lead-in - the most recent case in point would have been the RAW/TUF connection....or maybe even there was a "UFC Unleashed" lead-in for RAW that nobody talked about during the last months of RAW on Spike. I'm not buying it.
