Not 100% related to Hayes, but from what I've read about Scientology- I have no doubt they did tell Hayes to quit South Park, and probably even told him what to say when he quit
(i.e. bigotry...). The fact is, that someone might perceive a religion like that of the Mormons to be full of fallacies and whatnot, but even then- they are not so blatantly a scam as Scientology is.

I mean, who better to write a "Bible" (for lack of a better word) for a religion, than a veteran Science Fiction Author (L. Ron Hubbard)- if that doesnt scream SCAM- I dont know what to tell you (I can tell you that the part of the episode where it says "This is what Scientologists Actually Believe" is completely true- do the research)

I think the difference between South Park making fun of other religions and South Park making fun of Scientology- is that unlike actual religions- Scientology doesnt have any visible redeeming quality.

Again, not completely related to South Park or Isaac Hayes- but I thought this may be the best thread to voice this in.

Much to my chagrin, you can't! They only have episodes from seasons 1 and 2. At first I assumed it's because Stone and Parker have a tendency to produce episodes within the week before its airdate, but that doesn't explain the absence of seasons 3 and on. *shrug*

"South Park" has got to be one of the easiest series to download episodes from on the Internet. Not that I'd ever encourage people to do that, of course.

Why is it that South Park and other shows are so easy to download off of Youtube but shows like The Boondocks are not even allowed to be downloaded (they say something about copyright infringement)?

On SouthParkStudios.com, they said episodes from Season 10 will take about a week to show up on the iTMS.

For me, South Park ended when that car wreck of a movie exposed how little the writers had to say. The cliché gags were funny, but Trey and Matt have only slightly more social relevance than the leprechaun on a box of Lucky Charms. Do kidz today think Monty Python was deep?

It's interesting that the writers admit to copping out on Scientology for a decade while trying to paint themselves as stand up guys _now_. Hayes is a goof for taking this nonsense seriously. Trey and Matt are just animation shock jocks desperately hoping for attention.

Truth be told, they probably decided to lampoon Scientology because they thought the media might pick up on it. Hayes walking out played right into their hands, though in the long run they are poorer for losing his schtick because clichés are the only thing keeping the show going.

South Park, like Monty Python, is a long running in-joke disguised as meaningful and insightful social commentary.

A giant hedgehog named Dinsdale was supposed to be social commentary?

As much as this episode was against Scientology, the whole Darth Chef thing tells me they are still pissed off at him. If they weren't, that wouldn't have happened.

Overall, this was the best SOUTH PARK episode in years.

I kinda thought the over-the-top abusive death showed how upset they are at Hayes. I thought the Darth Chef was just a fun little jab at Star Wars.

Ok when the show started Issac was a good hook to get the songs over. He hasn't been on the show lately because the songs work better spread around to the characters. Call me a mark or whatnot but those guys ARE THE BEST! Weird AL, SNL, I don't give s shit. The market is flooded but you will feel the void when they quit. FAMILY GUY SUCKS PEOPLE!

According to the FAQ on the South Park Studios, Matt and Trey don't have a problem with the episodes being available on the internet.

It's from 2003, but I assume they still feel the same way today.

THat's actually pretty cool. Then again, I guess that would explain why the two sites mentioned are still in existance.

If anything, it's realy cool that they think that.

In case you guys don't remember, South Park did an episode that addressed the internet downloading issue and how celebrities whine about not having enough money to buy more swanky luxuries.

Still wouldn't Viacom or Comedy Central have more say over that and try to curb more of the downloading?

WWE is doing it more now. Especially on You Tube.
