| #2 Posted on 27.2.06 2246.07 Reposted on: 27.2.13 2247.13 | I liked the opening confrontation between Edge and Foley. Both did a good job....The tag title match was a throw-away, but at least they didn't forget about the #1 contender's match on Heat....I thought Jannetty did well in his segment with Shawn backstage....Murdoch needs to learn some new rest-holds. Good psychology in keeping RVD on the mat, but boring. Did I hear dueling Murdoch and RVD chants during this match?...At least Trish retained the title. That's the best I can say about that match....
The Cena/Trips confrontation was interesting, but not because Cena got to play "face who compliments Triple H." Trips made a few cracks about Cena that, if he does more often, could turn the crowd in his favor...Orton costing Chavo the match was kind of bizarre. I know he hates Eddy and stuff, but that was kind of random....I loved all the crazy Gene clips....I like the idea of Carlito coming up with the MITB match, and then not even winning his qualifying match....
The ME segment was disappointing, but boy was Marty struggling to keep from laughing. I'm guessing Marty will help Shane beat HBK in the street fight (which means it's legal for him to interfere), thus earning himself a contract. It's disappointing that I can't really enjoy Marty's return, knowing eventually, he'll turn on Shawn. At least, I'm assuming.

| #7 Posted on 27.2.06 2305.07 Reposted on: 27.2.13 2305.13 | If someone told me I'd be watching a Raw tonight that both RVD and Shelton Benjamin would both be winners, and that it would be a terrible show, I'd think they were full of shit. Yet, RVD and Shelton both win, and the show was a terrible show.
Foley and Edge, yay? just nothing about this even gets me thinking, oh this could be good. HHH & Cena. The audience can enjoy booing Cena for now, but just wait until HHH has the title again for about a month. If (and i'm just assuming here, though it'll probably happen) Trips takes the title again, he'll have a rematch or 3 against Cena. Ok, that's all well and good. But then what? They just put up a feature on WWE.com about his 10 reigns, and by comparison, he really looks like a shell of his former self.
MITB 2 is good, but wasn't given nearly enough time, well, besides the 2 obvious finishes, and the Flair swerve win over Carlito, who I'm sure will find a way in the match.
And I dare not comment on the final segment, just because I felt like I wasted 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back, and the worst part is, I have TIVO.

Anyways, I liked the show, but, I am easily entertained.
You finally got a Tag Title match, AND you get to see Big Vis and Val Venis to boot!
HHH commenting that Cena's best move was "pumping up his reboks" was pretty funny.
And, Shane O about killing HBK with a chair shot is terrific.
ANd, did RVD look like he legit nearly crushed his own skull? Kodos to Murdoch for turning it into a bit of psychology clubbing the head, slamming him down by the hair, etc.

Hey, a few months ago he damn near killed himself in a ladder match on RAW. I don't have a problem with him in the match (especially if he wins and then uses it to beat Triple H to end the show).
Have they said that there's going to be more than three people in the MITB match, or could it just be the three?

You forget the terrific ladder match for the title he had vs. Edge just a few weeks ago. I don't mind seeing Ric used this way - he still is a heck of an entertainer and guys like Carlito are learning from one of the best. I do not necessarily want to see Flair win this, but he can help make the match special.

Add to that their dialog at the beginning of the show. Marty said something to the effect of "We were together for several years and never kissed [oddly placed pause] anyone's ass." | #15 Posted on 28.2.06 0741.12 Reposted on: 28.2.13 0741.55 | The fact that Trevor Murdoch got some chants during his match with RVD tells me that the crowd was overly smarky. Murdoch has gotten a ton of Internet praise for his columns and Unlimited promos.
The crowd was pretty subdued, but some of that had to be due to having Smackdown taped before Raw started. By hour 4, any crowd is probably going to get tired. Then add a non-wrestling segment that was embarrassing to watch, and you got a bad night of Raw action.
I did like the surprises on this episode of Raw though, with the Carlito loss and the Orton appearance. At least tonight's Raw wasn't overly predictable. | Matt Tracker

| #16 Posted on 28.2.06 0802.16 Reposted on: 28.2.13 0804.39 | The RAW title match could be a problem. Triple H is clearly playing the cool heel and to perfection, I might add. He owned that crowd last night, and only his middling Rocky analogy diminished a sterling promo. Cena, pushed as the great extemporaneous talker, gave an awful "Fact" list and very little energy. I like Cena when he's in a low-key mode, but last night he foundered in the first chance to stand his own against the challenger. I'm now rooting for Triple H in a scenario where I should be all for the new-generation face champ. The Lovely Mrs. Tracker suggests Cena do his "you can't see me" hand waving in front of his ear to deflect the growing boos.
ScreamingHeadGuy is who we need to 'splain the Shawn outfit. That was just ... wrong. TLMT and I were laughing up our buffalo wings, and this cocktail dress that was in no way diluted by the ponytail. Please tell me he lost a bet.
In regards to Flair, he seems to be particularly inspired these days to take bumps. The suplex to the floor after the backcracker made me wince. I worry that he's gonna try a nasty fall in the WM match. Yes, Tery Funk is still doing crazy stuff at his age, but he has to in order to be marketable. Flair doesn't have to do this. Do I applaud his initiative in putting on a show or scold a 57-year-old man for risking injury to his aging bones?
While there was no question who was gonna win the tag title match, it was nonetheless a great spotfest. Big Show is wearing his working boots lately.
I mourn the lack of Spirt Squad acrobatics this week. The thank-you-Mr.-McMahon one-legged hopping dance doesn't count.
Congrats to Mene Gene for getting his chance to bask in fan adoration at the HOF induction. And even though it was an obvious set-up, the Coach's joke about himself being inducted was well done. I laughed out loud, despite myself.
I enjoyed this show a lot, but I admit to turning the channel when Mickie appeared in the ring. I in no way care about this angle or the majority of people involved. | Packman V2

I'm glad Mean Gene is getting in as well, but I have a really bad feeling his induction is going to be overshadowed by Hogan who actually inducts him into the HOF. Sure, the crowd reaction shouldn't be the same as it was when Hogan went in last year, but I have a funny feeling it'll still be huge. I hope i'm proven wrong. | rv581

I think it is more of HHH wanting to make Cena look bad and piush him back to the mid card with the likes of Jericho, Benoit, Booker T, Big Show, Kane, Flair etc. |
