1) Results of the first round of drug tests 2) The end of the brand extension, unifying of titles 3) The end of Smackdown itself 4) Put a clamp on wrestlers personal feelings about storylines (ie; Eddie's death) 4) The start date for the Diva Contest 2006

They haven't done any drug testing yet, so 1's out. I think that's close to the right idea.
2 and 3 are basically the same and if either was happening, it'd be impossible to keep quiet; they'd already be making changes and moves to adjust to the new structure and word would be leaking out.
4's something that might be important to them, but not enough to pull in everyone possible to the tapings.
It's most likely a detailed announcement about the drug testing. They've all told them so far that there will be drug testing and it'll happen before WM. Things like "what drugs", "how often", and "what's the punishment" are important details you bring in the whole crew, so you can talk to them in person about it.
The only other idea I've got is it's a more general State Of WWE address by Vince to the workers, where he could touch on drug testing, how Eddie's death has been handeled and various other issues, but mostly so he could yell at the whole crew at once.
What Vince should do is plant hidden cameras in the room, announce that he's retiring after WM, walk out of the room, and see how people freak. That'd be awesome.

I don't know about that. The new group might figure, even though Smackdown is the top (or atleast second highest) rated show on UPN, It just isn't worth it. | Matt Tracker

The networks combined because they don't have enough hit shows between them to sustain a week of programming. They're gonna merge and kill a proven ratings success? I dunno. | RYDER FAKIN

This is probably what it is becuase it' around that time of year. It could also be organisational but you could do that via email like most companies do now.
It would be cool if they did employee reviews int he company though. | Derrick

Going by Meltzer yesterday, it sounds like it's an off-air thing, done before the tapings:
"Something big as far as an announcement to wrestlers is expected on Monday at the combined Raw & Smackdown tapings in Washington, DC. All wrestlers on the roster, including the guys who haven't been used in a while, have been told they must be at the tapings. "
It's gotta be either details on drug testing, or a state of the business talk.
It does give them a chance to clear the air though re: the handling of Eddie's death before the biggest show of the year. | redsoxnation

Actually I'd think it would be more interesting to see which wrestlers flock to Vince's son and which flock to Vince's son-in-law in an attempt to curry favor with whom they presume would be Vince's heir. Possible reasons for the meeting: To announce drug testing begins on April 3rd, which substances are banned, and what, if any, appeals process there would be should a positive test occur. To tell the wrestlers to behave like adults during Mania weekend and not having any "Rhyno Incidents" during Mania weekend. Also, to not do anything that could lead to the Lesnar Fiasco of Mania XX or the Matt Hardy comments that allowed the crowd to go off the reservation at Mania XXI. Provide a broad overview of what direction the company is headed over the next six months. Or, to remind everyone that in whatever public comments they make before Mania, they are to stress that Vince McMahon's match at Mania is the most important match in the history of wrestling. | Snookum

Well, there IS a new high-class bowling alley right at Gallery Place (the Metro stop for MCI Center) where lanes are something like $75 an hour. You COULD be onto something here!! | Chumpstain

I'm guessing they'll fix that soon and we'll get some details, but that would be Vince's big announcement.
Nevermind, they fixed the link now.

If so, that's a pretty pathetic policy. It's basically a free pass for what I'd consider a first offense, even though it technically isn't under the policy. And while we're at it, can we petition the WWE to conduct drug tests on the writing staff as well? | thecubsfan
