The trade goes like this: Stevie Franchise to the Knicks, and Penny goes back to Orlando along with Trevor Ariza.
Between Franchise and Starbury, over/under on number of games before either a) one trashes the other in the press for ballhogging or b) one crowns the other with a blunt heavy object on the court in order to wrest the ball away: 6.5.

As for the Knickerbockers, they now are in salary cap hell through the end of this decade. Madison Square Garden can now officially be referred to as the World's Most Famous Toxic Waste Dump, as the Knicks have gone from a position where they could eliminate $40-$45 million to at least get closer to the cap with the elimination of Allan Houston and the expiring contracts of Hardaway and Antonio Davis and somehow parleyed it into worse contracts for additional years. If his fellow executives get to vote for the award, Isiah Thomas is a sure bet to win executive of the year this season.

The thing about Larry is, he's looking like that at Isiah, but he's only got himself to blame. He singlehandedly pissed away the Detroit job, and if he was still there, he'd very likely be adding another conference title and quite possibly another Finals championship to boot. If you are looking at landing places for Garnett, I'd think Orlando and Chicago would be the best bets. A Darko + Hill's expiring contract + a combination of #1 picks would probably be the best package Orlando could do. Chicago would be able to package potentially 2 lottery picks plus some combination of Gordon/Deng/Chandler. Chicago probably would be the best bet in that situation. Both of those are better than anything the Knicks could ever do, and it would be better than a Lakers package with the added benefit of Garnett being in the Western Conference. | BigSteve
