Quick and dirty...yet I didn't have the bell times. If somebody wants to add them go right ahead.

Helms
JBL
Hardy and Tatanka
Chris Benoit (New US Champion)
Orton
Angle

Quick notes.

-Cruiserwieght match...spot fest, again, or at least what the E allows.
-Lashley first loss.
-Ok, Tatanka?!?
-1,000,001 times for Chris Benoit as the US champion.
-Orton...man I wanted to puke because I knew he was going over.
-Angle in the Triangle choke pins Undertaker...nice finish.

***EDIT***
If an admin would please add the No Way Out logo so everybody doesn't get confused that it might be something different. :-D

So after all the crap did with WWE exploiting Eddie and bringing his family to the show, and this whole disgusting storyline, Orton wins, in a screwy finish. Rey Mysterio cries. What a joke. Rey's Rumble win wasn't even about himself or the merit of his career either. All of it was all about Eddie.

This is actually only the second time Benoit has won the US title in the WWE, 4th if you count his two WCW reigns.

Booker T however, has held the title 3 times in WWE and has NEVER successfully defended it once. The third time he won it, he didn't even do anything to win it. On par with the ridiculousness of HHH being handed the world title.

I thought this cruiserweight invitational was a bit better than the one last month. The good thing about these matches is really, anyone could win it.

JBL/Lashley was better than I expected, and I thought Lashley sold the Finlay blow pretty well, what with selling not being his strong point.

Nice to see Batista back, even though he didn't have much to say.

Of all the options, Matt Hardy picks Tatanka? Well, they won, so it didn't make him look that stupid. Tatanka must be the Ric Flair of Smackdown. Okay match. MNM shouldn't be losing as much as they do, especially when guys like Animal and Tatanka are on the other side.

Booker/Benoit had a REALLY long stretch of nothing going on, and that knocked it down a notch. Add that to the fact that I've seen this match 7,421 times, and it doesn't leave me with much to love.

Well, at least Vicki wasn't at ringside. I very much dug the Orton/Rey match, even though the outcome was the wrong decision.

It was weird seeing Rey walk backstage by everyone who congratulated Benoit earlier.

Angle/Taker was better than I thought it'd be. I especially liked the finishing sequence.

Overall, an okay card, with two matches that stood out (ME and Rey/Orton).

Wasn't there a similar finish back in 2002 on Smackdown when Undertaker pinned Kurt Angle while he was locked in a Triangle Choke?

The finish there was actually a double decision.....Angle was pinned while UT tapped out to the triangle choke. In fact, this might be the only time Undertaker has ever tapped out in his career.

So, I still think it'll be Rey/Angle/Orton in a three-way at Mania, but what else from the Smackdown side? Taker vs. Henry? Benoit defending against JBL? Boogeyman vs. Booker? MNM vs. Matt and Tatanka? Yeesh....let's hope they get that one out of the way on Smackdown so Matt can get a more high-profile partner for Mania (maybe Lashley?)

What? What finish were you watching? UNDERTAKER had ANGLE in the triangle choke. Undertaker used the triangle choke the entire second half of the match to counter the ten thousand times Angle put him in the ankle lock. While in the triangle choke, Angle floated over into a bridge so that Undertaker's shoulders were on the mat. Angle tapped in the triamgle choke while Nick Patrick counted Undertaker's shoulders down for the three count then awarded the match and title to Angle. Undertaker was pinned. He never tapped.

As for this being the second time this finish was attempted, yes, they did a similar triangle choke finish on a Smackdown in Boston, which was botched. I was there for that. They had to redo the finish after the show ended for television. That was the same show that Hogan and Edge won the WWE Tag Team Titles from the UnAmericans.

So, all that and Orton still wins? Lashley's undefeated streak comes to an end because of Finlay? (I like Finlay, but... Finlay?)

Randy Orton's in the main event of WrestleMania 22? Man, fuck WWE.

Was it me or was there some boos directed towards 'Taker when he mounted some offense? I guess it's official; the live crowds have now gone smark.

I was talking about the Boston match....I remember it as Undertaker having Angle up for the Last Ride, and Angle countering by putting UT in the triangle choke.

I think so too. Orton not calling his Booker T favour to screw over Rey Rey bodes well for Mysterio's involvement in the main event in Chi-Town, I would think. They'd have had to set up Rey's alternate match in some form tonight, and I can't imagine who else Rey would be put with. Unless Chavo or Benoit turn on him for letting Eddie down.

Aw, hell. Really man? I didn't get the show on the basis of not wanting to support any form of Orton push, especially under the circumstances of the Eddie stuff. But I do dig Taker/Angle matches, they seem to have great chemistry. Keller said it was one of Taker's best matches ever, and gave it four stars, but he liked the HBK/HHH HITC, which was such a piece of long-winded punch-bleed garbage to me that it tainted all future respect I have for Keller's opinions. But if you say it was fantastic, now I feel bad for missin' it.

You said it...I might as well go flush my tickets down the toilet and let some bum find them at the sewage plant so he can go.

I'm starting have the feeling going to Wrestlemania wasn't such a glorified Orton in my face event I might be happier...as of now looks like I've wasted both my money and the that weekend. I'll have fun one way or another.

Debate about the execution and content of the angle aside, I do think that a Mysterio-Angle-Orton three way for the title is a better option than a singles Mysterio-Angle match. Sure, Rey and Angle could tear the house down if they get 25 minutes in a (semi) main event, but it's also a face vs. face matchup. WWE was sort of painted into a corner (by circumstances not entirely within their control) where their options for a SD! heel were turning Angle with little to no build, replacing someone with Orton, or possibly going with a triple threat match. If that's the way they're going, I'd say it's a good idea.

That's nice and everything, but that doesn't justify the disgusting way they've used Eddie like this. And what do the people who said Mysterio was going to win have to say?

...which is why I said, "Debate about the execution and content of the angle aside". I apologize for not fulfilling my quota of righteous indignation in my last post.

The facts (at least, from where I sit):

1. Randy Orton is a good heel. That is to say that he is good at getting the fans to boo him because he's handsome, rich & muscular. Plus he's kind of a dick.
2. Randy Orton's entire gimmick has revolved around two things: "Legend Killing" and "Destiny". He's Randy Orton! Third generation superstar! Youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history! Master of the RKO! Legend Killer! He belongs in the main event of WrestleMania, because THAT will cement his legend.
3. When Orton lost at the Royal Rumble, it only made sense that he'd try to get a hold of Mysterio's title shot by hook or crook. He went for the jugular by bringing up Eddie Guerrero, and that got Mysterio to agree to a match he had no reason to agree to. And then it was Classic Heelishness that got him the victory.

And NONE of those things detract from a potential Rey Mysterio title shot. Heck, the way things have been handled makes it even more likely that Mysterio'll get into the main event at Mania anyway.

THANK YOU. Please let the crying and whining stop already. Ever heard of long-term booking? Rey is clearly going to win the World Title in 2006 (barring injury), and it will be the culmination of this angle with Orton.

No not really! But only because I forgot about the Michaels/Angle rematch at Vengeance. This was the best match since that one. I would rate it four and one-half stars. It started slow since they were going 30 minutes, but the second half was so great that I was pleading with World's Strongest Man Mark Henry to not ruin this match.

Man, Rey can win the world title in San Diego from the Rock while Dominick gets a pony and it still won't mean that using Eddie to get heel heat wasn't wrong. Ever heard of long-term not-being-despicable? Nevertheless, fans of Rey and taste should be relieved coming out of this since they didn't abuse Vicki and Chavo like they could have, and Bryan Alvarez says that the plans have now changed to include Rey in a threeway.

Don't forget John Cena too!

All my fellow WCW fanboys who jumped ship altogether after the buyout are laughing their asses off at me sitting through four hours of this a week. The last Raw was like a combined root canal/vasectomy.
