Most of the big names from ECW are either under contract elsewhere, retired and out of shape, dead, in jail or on bad terms with WWE. Watching Roadkill against Mikey Whipwreck as the main event doesn't exactly strike me as a quality ECW event. | Above Average 1

I mean the only ones you really lose are the Dudley's and Rhyno who have a signed contract with TNA(I assume) and Eddy Guerrero. There is no one else that wasn't at the first One Night Stand that couldn't be at the second one. Plus at this one RVD will be healthy to wrestle. | Derrick

They can still have a good show - better (on paper) than a lot of the actual ECW PPVs.
Should be interesting to see if TNA cares at all to snatch up a few of these guys. I doubt they will. They'd have to grab a lot of them for it to have any impact. If it wasn't for shows like this which sell DVDs, Vito, Nunzio, Super Crazy, Psicosis, and Kid Kash would not have WWE contracts. Just my opinion. | y4j1981

Lynn still works for TNA.
Also, I thought I read somewhere, could be wrong, that WWE was going to make people who signed on for the PPV sign a exclusive contract so they won't have another PPV-war thing that they had last year.

I'm curious to know if TNA will allow Team 3D, PJ Polaco, and other former ECWers to the show. Could they put a stip in a contract saying that "yes, you can use these wrestlers...but in return, we get use of their ORIGINAL names?" Could that go for every former ECW superstar who can't use their former names due to the WWE's stupid copywrite? | Tenken347

| #16 Posted on 19.2.06 1304.35 Reposted on: 19.2.13 1304.36 | The WWE could trade copyrights for performers, but they won't. Giving performers their highly recognizable and marketable names back is basically giving their "competition" a loaded weapon to use against them. The WWE doesn't want TNA (or anyone else, for that matter) to be able to make any money, especially off of something the WWE invested effort into making valuable. Furthermore, the WWE would have to be stupid to make the trade in the first place, seeing as how they can make plenty of money off of a ppv without those guys. | Cerebus

I've heard something along the lines of Malenko coming out retirement for an Eddie Tribute Match this year, but I'm not sure if it was Benoit or Mysterio, it was one of the two though.
If Lance is going to be on One Night Stand this year I'd probably see the show just to see him wrestle again, and I imagine he would be a likely choice unless he ends up in TNA between then and now, | Mattitude

I just hope that they don't over extend the ECW pay-per-views and make them less of a special event. Once is fine, even twice is a nice little treat, but don't just throw up an ECW event just for the hell of it when you're not going to push them any other time.
Did Team 3D leave the WWE on good terms? I know there was the flack about the name issue, but was it amiable besides that? Not that I can see TNA letting them go since they're pretty much the biggest superstars on the roster, right now. |
