| #1 Posted on 10.2.06 1809.58 Reposted on: 10.2.13 1811.55 | Against All Odds this Sunday. TNA's 2nd PPV offering of the year after coming off of a somewhat disappointing Final Resolution (quality wise), but TNA's coming off of their highest PPV buyrate and their highest Impact rating recently. Though I wonder what was the point of all the fanfare of bringing Sting like this just to keep him off TV again (probably until Lockdown. This is the first time since Bound For Glory that all the TNA titles are on the line on one show or PPV.
Pre-show matches:
-Ron Killings vs. A-1 -Cassidy Riley, Shark Boy and Lance Hoyt vs. Shannon Moore, David Young and Elix Skipper
Tentative match, might or might not happen:
The Naturals vs. Austin Aries and Roderick Strong
The James Gang vs. The Latin America Exchange Well I certainly don't expect this to be the last match in the feud. The LAX will win to drag it out some more.
Team 3-D vs. Team Canada (Bobby Roode and Eric Young) After that ridiculous loss from Final Resolution in their tag team title match against America's Most Wanted, Team 3-D needs to get some retribution over Team Canada to get back on track to attaining the tag team titles. These teams had a decent enough match on the prime time special, so this will be fine.
Matt Bentley vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams Hm, well Petey has already alligned himself with Jeff Jarrett. And it looks like Alex Shelley is sort of alligning himself with Jeff Jarrett now, so I wonder if that means anything here. Both Jay Lethal and Alex Shelley skipped out on the 2/11 ROH show in Long Island, NY due to the bad weather and so they could make it to the TNA PPV. Austin Aries and Roderick Strong both stayed to work the ROH show. Hopefully this doesn't put them in the dog house and they will still make it to the show. But when you work for more than one promotion and you have to be in two different location on two consecutive days and one location has horrible weather, this kind of stuff happens. Its the nature of the world. I'll give this one to Shelley because he's my boy and his haircut rocks, I don't care what anyone says.
Falls Count Anywhere Match Rhino vs. AbEEESSS, Abyss w/ James Mitchell The rubber match to the Abyss/Rhino feud. I expect this to be better than their Final Resolution match, since it will play more to their styles. Rhino gets the win back from last month.
NWA Tag Team Title Match America's Most Wanted(c) vs. Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt If there's going to be a team that beats America's Most Wanted, I think it will eventually be Team 3-D. Though this will be a good match because all the guys in the match are quality workers. Dutt and Sabin winning the titles with help from Tead 3-D would sure be an interesting surprise, but I don't think it will happen. AMW retains the tag titles.
Triple Threat Match for the X Division Title Samoa Joe(c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels Ending Joe's winning streak right now or having him drop the title so early into his reign at this point is ludicrous. Joe's really the most over guy on the roster, he's the top worker, and he's in the best PPV matches every month. As much as I loved the first match and all the matches these three guys have produced against each other, this really needs to be the blowoff of this long-standing feud. After this, time to move on. Give all three of these guys some new, fresher opponents on PPV. Joe wins and the wives of AJ and Daniels go home with him.
NWA World Title Match Christian Cage vs. TNA Management(c) Looking at the TNA house show cards and the talk of bringing Sting back in to face Jarrett at Lockdown, I think...no...I know for a fact that Christian will not win the title in 2 days. There will be a million run-ins, several guitar and/or chair shots, Jackie Gayda, and Gail Kim, and Christian will still lose. In the unlikely event that Christian does win the title, he'll lose it right back to Jarrett as that's the way of the world title there. TNA management retains the title.

I think they should've just give AMW the ppv off and had a Sabin/Sonjay vs Strong/Aries match, or have the finals match at the ppv and then the winner get a title shot on Impact, because they really need more important matches on Impact.
Anyway, I agree with most of the predictions except the main event, I think Christian will absolutely win the title because TNA isn't as dumb as the WWE, they know it makes sense to put the title on Christian now and they'll do it. Second of all, yes it's likely Sting and Jarrett will faceoff at Lockdown, but it will have nothing to do with the title, so why have the title on the line in the match?
Other than that, Joe won't get pinned, but I think there is a SMALL possibility that he loses the title without getting pinned, although if I were a betting man I'd still go with Joe. James Gang vs LAX I don't know. I've heard Homicide and Konnan are both injured so I don't know if they should drag this out or not. | BigSteve

If they don't think Christian has what it takes to be the top drawing card for them, they're only fooling themselves. Another Jarrett Overbooked Screwjob won't work here.
Why did Team 3D say before the last PPV that the NWA Tag Title was more important than all 18 other reigns they've had and then the very next month pass up a chance to face AMW for those very title. I know they need to get revenge on the heinous Team Canada, but that really makes no sense at all.
The three way should be awesome of course, but where does Joe go from here? Who else could he have a fued with in the X-Division that would look like anything less than a jobber compared to him? | Jackson

It's rare I can agree so wholeheartedly with three multiple points from one post but hell, well said. | The Vile1

I bet they will all get matches on the card. TNA tends to add 3 more matches to a PPV the night before it happens. Plus 1 or 2 matches on the pre-show.

Because TNA management thinks it will get more ratings that way or something. I just see it as they want their big world title match main event for the year to be Jarrett vs. Sting.
Plus Jarrett is being booked as defending the title in March at house show events against Rhino AFTER Destination X.
The three way should be awesome of course, but where does Joe go from here? Who else could he have a fued with in the X-Division that would look like anything less than a jobber compared to him?
Chris Sabin. Joe loved his match with Sabin at No Surrender and has said he wants to work with Sabin more. Sabin was really the first guy to take Joe to the limit in TNA. Sabin's a 2 time former X champ, and he needs to have a great singles feud again. | Zeruel

That way, one of them can take the title from the other, and Joe can lose the title w/o being beat. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
