I picked up my copy yesterday. While it wasn't the COMPLETE collection, as I thought it would be, 129 shorts certainly isn't anything to sneeze at. You get vintage panther, with cartoons dating from 1964 to 1980. And they definitely stand the test of time, as they're still funny to this day. The Pink Panther has always been a cult icon, never to the level of being mentioned in the same breath as Bugs Bunny or Donald Duck. But these cartoons bring the funny and they'll last a long while, as the collection eclipses the 13-hour mark.

The only minor quibbles would be the menus are a little difficult to grasp at first. But you can't go wrong with the extras, which include a retrospective on the late Friz Freleng and the original animated openings of the Pink Panther films.

Grab this one. And hopefully, sales are good enough to justify more collections along the same lines like The Complete Clouseau and The Complete Ant & the Aardvark.

What about the new series they made in the 90's? I remember there being one. Panther actually spoke, and Inspector Clouseau was in it as well. Panther was his assistant.

I'm going to see the new movie on Monday. I grew up with Peter Sellers and the Pink Panther movies so I'll probably take it very personally.

We've been watching the old shorts on Boomerang lately and my kids are absolutely mesmerized by these Pink Panthers! On Sunday, we watched for two hours straight and nobody complained about anything, which is a minor miracle. Those of you with more than two kids will know that is near impossible.
