C'mon guys, who knew that Spencer would be a mole?

There is ALWAYS a mole in CTU. Its not CTU if there's not a mole.

And how about Jack's kill this hour? That assassin wasn't too bad either giving Jack a Steamboat arm drag into the wall. Now CTU is aware of Cummings betrayal.

Next episode it looks like the hammer from season 4 might be falling back on Jack. Now that Jack's alive...isn't China going to want his head?

What did Mike Novik do? Why was Jack yelling at him? Novik did warn Palmer that Cummings was going to have Jack offed at the end of season 4. So perhaps he knew about Jack's secret as well.

Best. Mole. Evar. The "Internal Affairs" angle makes this seem a lot less pathetic than I thought it would be; almost believable even.

I was disappointed at the end, if only because I thought the cliffhanger ending would be that Jack found out that Spencer was the mole, and next week we'd get a nice protracted Jack torturing someone sequence. I didn't expect Spencer to crack so quickly.

At least CTU seems to be getting quicker at recognizing when they have a mole in their midsts.

The Tony's awake fake out was well done. It seemed too quickly/convenient for him to be up, but it's not something I'd be surprised to happen on the show. Though I have a feeling that at the halfway point of the season when they start to wrap up the first major plot is when Tony will wake up and whatever revelations he might have will set the direction for the next few hours.

The Audrey-Diane confrontation, and Jack subsequently realizing what was going on was fun.

I liked the ending split shot of Jack and Cummings. Next week, its ON!

Jack has gotten very rusty. For one thing I KNEW him being called in to talk to Tony was a fake out. Tony "ASKED" for Jack Bauer? Who told Tony that Jack was in CTU? Tony didn't know what the hell had transpassed. As far as he knows, Jack is still living incognito and off the grid.

Not sure what to make of Lynn McGill yet. He and Jack seem to be getting along ok for now, but I sense some underlying tension which could blow up sooner or later. But will Lynn end up being more of an ally or an antagonist?

The second time they did the mole in CTU storyline was probably one too many so I was all set to hate Spencer (predictably) turning out to be a mole. I have to say that him being an unwitting mole or sorts was a great twist that saved it for me.

24 must have learned judo or karate while he was going incognito for the last year and a half becuase he seems to be replacing the PUNCH OF DEATH with the CHOP OF DEATH.

When Cummings said something to the effect of "I'll take care of Jack Bauer personally" I think we all realized that meant "My plan will fail horribly, and I will end up dead today".

Is it just me or are they burning through this storyline fairly quickly? Even though it was a cooldown type episode, they revealed a lot of the plot tonight. I suppose it isn't too fast since they'll probably shift focus at around 7:00 PM.

(Wild arse guessing, not spoilers since I'm going off what they showed on the preview. But I'll try the spoiler tag anyway.)

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
It would appear since Jack wants to meet the prez, and they all know he's alive (from the airport hostage situation), that he's using his link to Novick as someone he trusts from his Palmer days. So it seems pretty obvious that Cummings finds out about this meeting and is going to try to capture him.

After last night... I'm suspecting our evil buddy Walt Cummings is trying to pull a sting on the terrorists. It's never clear-cut like this without it being some type of swerve (witness Gael in Season 3). Of course, whether he's truly evil or not, Cummings is headed for failure. (There are 19 hours left in the day, after all.)

If I'm Martha, I'm using this day as grounds for divorce once it's all over. Assuming President "Planet Stasiak" Logan even survives the day, of course. (At this rate, he's going to walk right into a terrorist trap.)

For a transitional episode, this one went by pretty quickly, and Jack even racked up another kill. I guess that makes sense since they had a lot of ground to cover because Jack needed a "So... I thought you were dead this morning!" scene with practically everyone at CTU.

I, too, was a little disappointed that Spenser cracked so quickly. I was hoping they'd bring in Agent Pain, my new favorite recurring character, to inject a bunch of wierd crap into him. The angle they used worked for Spenser, though, so it wasn't too predictable.

Count me in as someone who bought the Tony fakeout. Carlos Bernard must have the easiest acting job in the world this season.

That Jack/Walt split screen was cool. Walt looks all evil and Alec Baldwinesque. I'm glad they established that Jack isn't really working for CTU still, although I'm a little disappointed he didn't go rogue all season.

When is Peter Weller showing up?

I'm really loving this season so far.

One thing I love are the reactions of various characters to different situations...Novick getting the news Palmer was dead, Jack watching the news about Palmer - then actually seeing Palmer, *everybody's* reaction to seeing Jack at CTU, Jack & Audrey seeing each other.

Also, I love how all the major players are the same. There was no CTU makeover this year. Makes it feel like a true sequel.

I was ready to smash the TV if Buchanan hadn't acknowledged Michelle's death. Thankfully they took care of that.

The pieces of the assassin's gun getting through CTU security I might be able to buy, but how exactly did the bullet get through?
