My thoughts:

--The name change was enough to get me to actually tune in! Its ray-tings!

--Hogan jobs to motorcycle ignitions as JR and Lawler have to cover for him....WHEE

--Let's all welcome Golddust to Weinerville...

--Apparently Booker T doesn't wanna join yet.

--Smark moment: I was hoping for a random run-in in the WWEME and have some face join the nWo. Then have him turn back on them then Flair can say, "How it feel to be backstabbed, boys?" Instead we got the expected - Flair turn - yawn.

I was honestly expecting Goldberg. Oh well. What was the point of having Nash arrive in the limo? As a matter of fact, what was the point of having Flair do the whole "Bradshaw and the nWo are in cahoots" thing?

I take it all back. I am now starting to enjoy watching Hogan amble around like a tard. Undertaker had to walk off stage to keep from laughing at him I guess. Then Hogan waddles back after Taker tells his fellow "biker" it is much easier to get a bike started moving uphill from a dead stop if you put it in FIRST gear. Then he putts around the backstage area like an old man in Florida with his left turn signal stuck on. Finally, he struggles up the side of the truck and and waits for a commercial break so someone can put that damn thing it gear for him.

I love it. It's just like watching the Osbournes.

You haven't been a wrestling fan for very long, have you? Every time a wrestler accuses another wrestler of being in cahoots with the heels, it is the accuser who is in fact consorting wtih said heels. It's like a rule.

Like Tatanka and Lex Luger back in 1994.

Kind of a dull Raw, which makes sense because the show has a dull roster.

Thumbs up
* The awesome Five-Star frogsplash/Swanton combo from RVD and Jeff Hardy.

* Trish Stratus. This is just a general observation.

* Goldust dressed up like Latrell Sprewell, and yet another funny promo between him and Booker T. Keep this team "together" for a while; Goldust might even become a face by proxy with Booker.

* Big Show actually gave some kind of reason for his turn. Sure, the reason was pretty lame, but at least the writers tried SOMETHING.

* D-Lo is getting a real push! Hooray!

* Lillian Garcia didn't screw up the WWF/WWE thing once all night, even during the multiple hardcore title changes.

Thumbs Down
* Jim Ross, who used the dreaded 'WWF' reference exactly two minutes into the show. Wow.

* Hogan and his inability to drive a motorcycle. That whole segment was pretty craptacular. Undertaker needs to lose some weight; he looked like Paul Heyman in the billowing trenchcoat.

* The bikini contest. Couldn't they have found somebody hotter than Terri? Ugh.

* Planet Stasiak's entrance music. The music itself is good, which is the problem; why does the jobber get the distinctive entrance, when Brock Lesnar gets generic rock mix #3953?

* Kevin Nash, who makes the big entrance and then...what?

* The really obvious turn in the main event. Ooh, Austin vs. the nWowner. Having Flair in the nWo itself is another slap in the face of continuity; remember WCW from 1996-2000? The WWF writers sure as hell don't.

I haven't *laughed* at a segment like the Hogan/motorcycle one I saw tonight since the Hogan/mirror episode. No it wasn't a good kind of laugh either.

I can get into this hardcore division if it will actually feature some of my ECW favorites in longer matches.

Swanton/Fivestar combo fucking Awesome...do we get a replay, no we get the big Hogan replay.

Big Show looked very, very good tonight. This is the best I've seen him in a long time. One he seems in better shape, but not only that they're booking him like a MONSTER.

I can live with heel Flair if we get heel Arn.

EDIT: OH, OH I must add that that was the BEST monkey flip I've ever seen.

Wow, what a steaming heap of monkey crap tonight's RAW was. While I still haven't decided whether J.R. or the phone-in voiceover intro to RAW gets the nod as "First Guy To Screw Up And Call It 'WWF'" (BLATANT TM VIOLATION COME NAIL MY ASS UNDER THE LANHAM ACT), let me add a little bit of my mental mastur... er, thoughts. :-)

First of all, in re: Hogan not being able to get the motorcycle going. The same guy who talked about riding his Harley to Michigan for WM III and then back can't get 'Taker's bike started. If ever a moment rated a 101 (on a scale of 1-100) on the Unintentional Comedy Scale, that was it.

Jackson: Undertaker had to walk off stage to keep from laughing at him I guess.

No shit, dude. The reason why Undertaker didn't return until much later in the show? It took him that long to stop laughing his ass off.

Jackson: Finally, (Hogan) struggles up the side of the truck and and waits for a commercial break so someone can put that damn thing it gear for him.

Man, why the hell did they have to drag that over the commercial break? How many "Moments Ago" recaps do we get per show, and now they decide to wait until they came back from commercial? ... the fuck?

Various: Why did Nash show up in the limo?

Other than to waste valuable air time? Probably a way-too-subtle hint about Flair's heel turn, in retrospect. The guy who suspended Nash does nothing when he comes back into the building.

Big Bad: Thumbs up: Trish Stratus

Ignoring the total clusterfuck that the Women's-Turned-Hardcore Match became (coughcoughtotallymeaninglesshotshottingcoughcough), mad insane props to Trish for taking the biggest bump I've ever seen a WWF woman take. This was no "Bubba Ray will absorb most of the impact" powerbomb through a table; that was unprotected full force. I take back every bad thing I've ever said about Trish's wrestling ability.

Thumbs up: Big Show actually gave some kind of reason for his turn. Sure, the reason was pretty lame, but at least the writers tried SOMETHING.

Are you kidding me?? Compared to Austin's post-heel-turn interviews, Big Show's promo was practically Arn Anderson in his prime!! And they even remember further back than 2001 Survivor Series for the reason - continuity and non-revisionist history? Who are these writers and where can we get more of them?

Thumbs up: D-Lo is getting a real push! Hooray!

Saw the D'Lo run-in coming after Regal made his comments about being the best European Champion ever. And you know what? It didn't matter because I was still glad to see it. If this ends up with another long D'Lo European Title Reign, I will be quite happy with that part of the program.

Various: Flair turns in the main event, which ends in a no contest. Yay - not.

So let's see... circa February 2001, people were complaining that Austin's character was getting stale and needed a change. So after various music changes, various personality changes, a heel turn, a face turn, a heel turn, and a face turn, what do we have?

The same Steve Austin from February 2001 - only now he lets the crowd say, "Whut?" a lot, he fights Ric Flair instead of Vince McMahon, and he's even further broken down as far as working in the ring - so bad now that he stunk it up with Chris Jericho at No Way Out and Undertaker at Backlash. This is why when people talk about how great Austin is, how fresh his character is, or how great a worker he is right now, I want to puke.

WWE - we changed our trademark to emphasize the entertainment, NOT the wrestling!

We all saw it coming. Flair was turming, it was so ovious that it was going to happen. But i can dig a heel flair, anderson. The fivestar / swaton bomb combo was special for smarks(like me). What the hell happened to Nash ? He turned up in a limo and disapperaed for the rest of the night. Austin vs / big show at judgement day people?

Digged the Five-Star/Swanton combo.

Thought it was damn hilarious when Hogan couldn't get the bike started up. It got to the point where they had to pan the camera to JR and the King so as not to emphasize Hogan's screwup.

But let's talk a minute about Flair's heel turn. If ever there was an event that demonstrated, to me, that the idiots in the back writing this crap have no respect for wrestling history, this is it. Flair joining the nWo would be like Michael Jordan joining the Knicks, or Larry Bird joining the Lakers. This is the betrayal to end all betrayals.

So... Flair's forgiven the nWo for forcing him to disband the Four Horsemen in 1997, after Curt Hennig slammed the cage door on his head repeatedly? Did anyone other than me see the Nitro following War Games in '97? Brutal footage of Flair being taken off. Almost made me want to throw up.

So... Flair's forgiven the nWo for (according to WW... E storylines), destroying WCW?

What am I talking about, right? There never was any WCW, if you believe the WW... E propaganda. Certainly was never any ECW.

Damn it, damn it, damn it. I'm convinced that if the WCW/Fusisent deal had worked out, everybody would have been watching Nitro instead of this bullshit. Then again, the Invasion would never have happened, Flair would still be in WCW, as would the nWo, so who knows, right?

Marty McFly: I can't believe it. It's like we're in hell or something.

Doc: No, it's WWE, although I can't imagine hell being much worse.

how can Vince McMahon be both an entertainment marketing genius and such a monumental idiot at the same time? it's mind boggling to me how the same company that brings us the best wrestling show on tv is also completly fucking up said product. even more baffling is the fact that enough good product remains on the air as much as the rest sucks.

RVD+jeff = jeff looking good since he has been stagnant lately. they actually clicked working together.
Eddy is el hombre yo.

I've never thought D'lo was more than average. I know that puts me in the minority but whatever.

the hardcore clusterfuck just degrades the title to useless to me. I'd rather see it be more of a toughness kind of thing where you have to withstand a brutal beating to get it.

D-Lo making the save was prety cool.
Lame Hogan segment killed the crowd for the rest of the night.

Crash nearly saved the hardcore clusterfuck for me when he thought fast and tried a "Bubba! Get the tables!" Crash is one funny little mofo.

The Big Show -- hey, he IS a bad guy, and he has footage!

Other than that, not much to say about tonight's show. Flair and Show vs. Austin at Judgment Day only cements my determination not to order the show -- now instead of one likely unwatchable topcard match, we have two.

Can we PLEASE get a few more workers in the women's division so we don't have to see Trish vs. Jazz Part MCLMXI for a while? Yeah, the match was decent, but all we seem to get is Trish vs. Jazz, Trish vs. Molly, or sometimes, if they're feeling wacky, Trish and Jackie vs. Molly and Jazz.

D'lo gets a shot at the European championship, all well and good. D'lo has to get through Regal to get it, not so good. Can D'lo break the streak of good workers forced into endless feuds and crappy matches with Regal? I can only hope.

I don't know about you, but I don't see how angles from federations years ago should affect a current angle in a completely different federation with different circumstances. I mean, should Raven start screwing around with Tommy Dreamer's head on HEaT because the two feuded in the past? Should Justin Credible beat the holy hell out of Tommy Dreamer instead of being together in tag matches because the two feuded in ECW? I don't think so, and I don't think the same should apply to Flair and the past angles of the nWo. And even if one acknowledges his past with that stable in WCW, wouldn't that make it even more of a Shocking Swerve™? I'm not sure, I was almost literally running on fumes yesterday, so maybe my mind wasn't all there for WWF* RAW. All I can really remember is D'Lo, Brock Lesnar kicking ass, and Golddust wearing some chains.

*(I'm not calling it WWE. I will not "Get the F Out.")

RAW Thoughts:

I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen this yet -
Brock Lesnar = Goldberg
Planet Stasiak = Jerry Flynn

Not only did Trish take that nasty-ass table bump, but she took that *WICKED* face-first slam from Jazz that even made me sit up and salute her effort. I never cared much for Trish, but damn, she is dedicated and improving a lot.

God, the Hogaine segment... why do they waste so much time on this crap? Take any two participants from the Hardcore schmozz, GIVE THEM A !&*$% MATCH, and get rid of this CRAP that we were subjected to between Hogan/UT. Hell, shorten the main event crap and give the other 2 remaining participants a match as well.

What an awesome Raw.

The Hogan motorcycle segment was hilarious. Watching him fuck with the gas, I was waiting for the Taker to come down and start it for him.

The Five Star/Swanton was way cool..they need to do that more.

God I hope they put Dlo back in his closet..I can't stand that guy.

The Flair turn was rather lackluster, I think everyone called new it was going to happen.

From my black Resistol jockstrap:

1)After Mr. T's performance in NBC's 75th Anniversary and Hulk Hogan last night...a WWE Wrestlemania I tag team reunion needs to happen. It just does. And if Vince doesn't have the wherewithal to pull this off, what a great duo for a new Law & Order spinoff.

2)Who knew that WWE was being sponsored by Sprint? For four hours every week, you get to hear the pins drop.

3)Nice to know the chimps running the show decided to go with WWE over any other more effective names for the SOLE PURPOSE of being able to run the "Get the F out" campaign. That's the only reason they went with this name change. It doesn't matter that its the stupidest name of all time. They came up with a witty slogan!

4)Or is it really a warning to the fans that things are just getting worse?

5)I bet WWE wishes they did the motorcycle angle on Smackdown. No more live shows, folks. It's all about post-production!!

6)Only in WWE would a woman defend accusations of being a slut by coming up with the brilliant "show skin for a bunch of losery fans" idea.

7)Jerry Lawler is every hard-up for sex friend you've ever had that you had to have a talk with or else he was out of the group. Someone, please, have a talk with him.

8)Of all the people who won the Hardcore Title, Crash Holly got the biggest pop. Which isn't saying much.

9)Trish may just be the best worker on Raw.

10)Ric Flair aligning himself with the NWO may be the most incongruous event in the long, fruitful history of WWE and wrestling. It doesn't make sense based on WCW history. It doesn't make sense based on Flair's WWF history. I hate writers. You know, for all of Scott Keith's inadequacies, if he were working for the WWF, there would at least be a high probability that we would have history respected.

11)Mind games, Book. Mind games.

Man, and I thought that Goldust was the king of mind games. Hulk Hogan's use of the "I'll run the bike very slowly and put more fear into the heart of the evil Undertaker with my methodical style" tactic was MASTERFUL! What a funny moment in Raw history.

By the way, JR never said that Ric Flair joined the nWo. I believe that next week we will get a speech from Flair, where Ric says that he had to do something to teach Austin a lesson (which means that Flair did the turn to get at Stone Cold, not to become a part of the poisonous nWo).

I loved the Kevin Nash cameo last night. If Nash would do that every week (come to each Raw arena and then not do anything), then the WW...E has finally found a role suited for Big Sexy. But seriously, I think that the Nash bit might be done to show that the "new" nWo has forgotten about him. This would lead to an nWo beatdown of said Big Sexy and when Nash comes back from his injury, he can be Big Daddy Cool again.
