| #1 Posted on 21.1.06 0144.59 Reposted on: 21.1.13 0145.03 | Meltzer, and Torch have confirmed the rumors of this new promotion. There was minor gossip on the wrestling 900 numbers last week (yes, they still exist) of 50 Cent doing an angle with New Jack at the first taping. Here's the pwtorch.com story:
"MTV and Big Vision Entertainment have developed a project which could become the first original wrestling programming exclusive to MTV which MTV will have a hand in producing. MTV had previously been the home of Sunday Night Heat, but the show was produced by WWE.
They are not releasing details of the project publicly yet, other than to say a pilot taping will take place in Los Angeles, Calif. on Thursday, Feb. 9. Wrestlers taking part include Vampiro, Justin Credible, Sean Waltman, New Jack, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, and Teddy Hart. The taping is free, but the venue will have very limited seating. Some seats will be made available next week through various wrestling media outlets.
Because it's being produced for MTV, the show will incorporate music and the producers are planning to create a dramatically different look and presentation compared to any wrestling product before. The name of the program and the promotion are not known at this time." | Promote this thread! | | thecubsfan

YAY for Matt Sydal, among others. Hope good people get good paydays for however long it lasts; parts of this crew appear to be chosen purposefully for maximum possible insanity (probably more to do with people who aren't on TV elsewhere), buty even if people were on their best behavior, I can't imagine this being more than a short term deal. This looks to be BVE's biggest project yet and MTV doesn't stick wtih a series too long regardless.

I immediately thought the exact same thing. Unless the show gets a huge buzz like "The Osbournes" or "Punk'd", Mtv will probably just do one season. | Whattaburger

He caused a commotion and almost started a real brawl among wrestlers at an indy show here last week. He did a moonsault off a basketball hoop, messed up his knee, and later outside the venue bitched and whined how Pro Wrestling War (the promotion) have screwed up his chances with WWE for his upcoming tryout or whatever.
gotta love Teddy.
Human Tornado is gonna be in a dark match for the tapings as a tryout for a contract if the show gets picked up for a whole season. | The Vile1

| #9 Posted on 21.1.06 1537.31 Reposted on: 21.1.13 1537.31 | Well, I hope it gets a full season, just because I think more wrestling on TV is a good thing. I like Vampiro, Sydal, and Evans. But is this not a conflict of interest for Waltman if the show gets picked up? Since he is a part of the TNA roster. Or is it not since Spike and MTV are both part of Viacom?
Even if Teddy lands a gig with WWE, he won't be there for long with an attitude like that. Just like Juventud. | GimmickMan

Isn't UPN also part Viacom? If so, then now they have WWE (Smackdown), TNA, and now this new promotion. Talk about "conflict of interest".

FWIW, Viacom and CBS split. TV wise, CBS Entertainment owns that network and UPN, while Viacom has all the cable networks.
Based on his limited appearances, I'd assume Waltman's on a per-night deal, not a contract which would restrict his appearances elsewhere. | Karlos the Jackal
