As always, a tremendous episode, even though it was mostly filler and set-up for things down the line, such as the reveal of Claudette's issues, as well as the Strike Team's eventual IAD troubles.
The conversation between Danny and Julian was a nice reminder of Julian's earlier troubles on the force. Of course, it could be argued that he was much more competent than Tina, but Danny's reminder that she could've washed him out really made him reconsider putting all of that documentation on Tina's jacket. These two are by no means the center of the show, but it is nice to see them with something to do this season.
Forest Whitaker's character on this show is great. The way he manipulated Acevada into helping him was brilliant. This guy is really going to be of great interest to watch. I'm not so sure Lem can be considered the "weak link," though...I can remember during Season 1 when Acevada and Dutch were THIS close to cracking Shane on Terry's murder. I know that Shane has since developed, but it would have been interesting to see him in IAD's crosshairs.
More as I think of stuff....I've heard this might be the last season, does anyone know for sure?
Minor detail edit - According to Kavanaugh, it's been 2 1/2 years since Terry was killed. If that is the case, Mackey's son got freakin' huge.

Lem was brilliant pulling out the microphone wire. They made it seem like he sped off because he was pissed at Vic, but I'll bet that he eventually takes Vic's side.
Taking Doomsday down to Mexico was brilliant and very scary. I was getting afraid that he'd be the season long evil guy, like Armadillo was two seasons ago and like Antwon last year.

I think it's been all but confirmed. I think they're doing 23 (?) episodes to wrap up everything, and Shawn Ryan has stated that he wants to move on. He's working with David Mamet and others on that CBS show The Unit (also starring Dennis Haysbert and Scott Foley). I hope it's good.
I'd rather they wrap up things and end it if Ryan leaves than trying to carry on with new writers. Chiklis is doing Fantastic Four 2, and I think he's in some horror movie with Lucy Liu, as well, so he might want to move on.

I'd heard the same that it's the last season, and I agree that it's better to leave it with everything still intact rather than continue on without some of the major components.
Kavanaugh is fucking slick, he's got Aceveda all wrapped up because he knows Aceveda wants, in his heart of hearts, to take down Mackey and he's playing that for all it's worth. I think that Kavanaugh will snap a trap shut on Aceveda too because to bag a team of dirty cops is one thing but to get a city councilor as well is something else.
Dutch is already pissed off about Claudette missing time on the job, so I wonder does he try to work with it and keep the relationship good or does he throw a fit and say the hell with it? In the end, Dutch thinks there are two great cops in LA and he's both of them.
Vic and Lem - I was really thinking about why Vic didn't lie to Lem about Terry. He tried to deflect the whole thing with "How can you ask me that question?" but when that didn't work, and knowing that Lem was neck deep with IAD, why didn't he say "No, I didn't shoot Terry" and go from there. Sure, he doesn't want to lie to Lem but considering the stakes I don't know why he'd take the route that cements the doubt in Lem's mind. There's a lot of things in the mix for this issue, the trust among the team members and how Vic has changed over time foremost among them. I see arguments on both sides, so I'm keen to know how it'll play out.
